The Shearer's Quarters

The place is on a huge farm, with very nice owners. We liked fully equipped kitchen and possibility to watch stars at night together with milky way.

Older properly but very well maintained and fantastic for large groups

Nothing everything was good

Lots for us with young families to do - exploring the farm, going fishing in the canals or just hanging out at the quarters with the massive kitchen with facilities!

There was a code for the gate and then Chris met us at the property. A great place for a motorbike group as the home is out of town on average, safe for bikes. It has inside and outside space. Great for large groups.

The space was amazing- the beds were so comfortable and the kitchen set up was perfect for a family of 10.

Not really anything-the only thing we lacked was a rolling pin (we used a bottle).

Good location between lake tekapo and pukaki/Mt Cook. Peaceful farm with a friendly and curious sheep that came to say hello to us. Chris came by after we checked-in and was very kind to provide us with hangers/aluminium foil we requested for. The kitchen was huge and came with plenty of cooking equipment and pantry items. There were heaters in every room. The two toilets available to us were clean and spacious.

There were zero clothing hooks on the walls in the entire house (even in the toilet), no hangers. In the bedrooms, there were no hooks/closet to hang clothes and no bedside tables. We had dinner around the island table in the kitchen area which had to be used with high chairs that were uncomfortable for a proper meal. The only proper meal tables and chairs outside but it was far too cold even in early summer to have dinner outside.

Loved the relaxed homely environment and old photos. The very friendly sheep was a highlight of our stay at the farm.

Such a peaceful location and a taste of rural New Zealand for our overseas guests. We loved the large areas for groups to relax together, the wonderful kitchen facilities to make self-catering easy, the choice of outdoor spaces and seating to suit sun or shade. Although all the bedrooms were basic the sheets and bedding were lovely and the beds comfy. Three good bathrooms with great showers were just right for our group. Perfect place for star-gazing and we wished we could have stayed another night. Highly recommended for a group who just want to relax and enjoy one-another's company. Close to Tekapo but away from the tourist crowds.

We couldn't find a code for wifi. One of our party was needing to send an email but apart from that we didn't want to be on screens anyway. As were only staying for one night we didn't contact the owner. If there is wifi access maybe the password could be shown somewhere prominently.

We had a wonderful stay at this homestay. The scenery is beautiful, and the space was perfect for our group of ten. The kitchen was fully equipped, and they even prepared a bottle of red wine for us—such a thoughtful touch. The location is excellent, very close to the city centre and surrounded by supermarkets and shops, which made everything super convenient. We would definitely consider staying here again on our next trip.

However, the house has too few bathrooms for ten people, which made it a bit inconvenient during our stay.
