Dolce Vita Nusa Penida

The villa itself is beautiful and ideal for a short 4-day stay. Staff members are very friendly, prepare breakfast, and are always ready to help when needed. A beach club is within walking distance, which is a plus given the otherwise remote location.

The private beach is misleading: practically unusable, far away, and heavily tide-dependent. (-1) The villa is very remote. Apart from one beach club, everything else requires a 20–30 minute drive. (-1) Privacy is limited as staff are always present. Not unpleasant, but something to be aware of. Safety is also a concern: the villa is directly on an unprotected drop of around 2.5 meters, making it unsafe for children. (-1) One of the four bedrooms had rats inside. This is unacceptable in a high-priced accommodation and needs urgent attention. (-2) Compensation handling was very disappointing: despite weeks of communication, no binding solution was reached regarding the unusable room. (-1)

Il y avait constamment des personnes à la maison. Nous avons réservé une habitation privée et au final, 2 personnes étaient là de 8h à 16H tous les jours dans la salle principale. Elles faisaient le petit dej et le ménage mais du coup je n'étais pas chez moi, aucune intimité pour notre famille. J'ai demandé à ce qu'elles ne soient pas présentes mais elles sont restées quand même. Elles étaient cela dit adorables même si je ne comprends pas pourquoi elles restaient toute la journée à la cuisine alors qu'il n'y avait plus rien à faire à la maison. Ca peut convenir à certaines personnes, moi j'aime me sentir chez moi quand je loue et ne pas partager la villa, cela DOIT ETRE PRECISE dans l'annonce. La route juste à côté est extrêmement bruyante, ça circule et klaxonne énormément. Les salles de bain et la piscine sont vieillissantes et au prix de la nuit des matelas non piqués par les moisissures et non troués serait un plus. Je regrette de ne pas avoir pu accéder à la cuisine car il y avait toutes les affaires des filles dans le frigo et de partout. Les baignoires sont gigantesques et il faut 1H pour avoir 30cm d'eau dans la baignoire mais vous n'aurez pas assez d'eau chaude pour ça.Beaucoup de câbles électriques qui gâchent la vue. La maison est trop loin de tout et les taxis proposés par la maison sont loin d'être convenables. Nous avons aussi loué des scooters par leur biais qui étaient dans un état lamentables et très dangereux. Bref je trouve que c'est 3 fois trop cher pour cette maison. La salle de bain et la chambre isolée ne sentent vraiment pas bons. Une fois encore à 200€ la nuit oui, à 600 non!

The water pressure in the first bedroom on the left of the lounge is very low. But pressure in others was good so we were able to use them

The property is beautiful, we ended up extending another night because we loved it so much. Book this if you want a resting and relaxing break and to chill at the villa. It’s not close too much so if you don’t have a bike you might struggle as it’s on the other side of the island. It’s completely worth it!

This is really hard to rate. I want to be honest but also fair. It is a truly beautiful villa with so much to offer but some issues disappointed us. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and 3 of the bathrooms were wonderful. Views are quite spectacular and the central lounge and dining area is enormous and comfortable. Pool and surrounding areas are excellent. Staff did laundry for us, were pleasant and helpful ordering and picking up meals. Breakfasts were adequate.

With 2 little boys we requested a temporary pool fence which was unable to be sourced. Upon our arrival we discovered that the deck surrounding the pool overlooked a 'cliff' of quite a few metres drop with no fencing whatsoever. Fine for a group of adults, but it severely impacted our ability to relax. During the first night the power supply went off and we woke to find the pool had drained to about half its capacity rendering it unusable. No-one attempted to communicate to us what was going on until I contacted Booking.com and messaged the property management. In the meantime a number of individuals entered the property without even speaking to us, presumably trying to solve the problem. Eventually a neighbour politely introduced himself, diagnosed the problem and created a temporary fix until a part could be found for a permanent solution. After many messages between me and the AI of the property management (pretty sure I wasn't communicating with a real person), 2 water trucks arrived to top up the pool. By the end of the day the pool was usable again, but we had had a whole day of privacy invasion. Management compensated us with a dinner voucher at a local restaurant the following night, which was appreciated although we felt reimbursement of one night's accommodation would have been fairer. For the duration of our stay we used a modified pool which was not an infinity pool and was not cleaned during the 5 days we were there. Ironically the pool was repaired just before we left on our final morning. One of the bathrooms really stank of mould. Villas were cleaned superficially and not every villa every day. Power outage again on our last night - a generator would be a good idea. We weren't informed clearly that there would be full time staff. Once breakfast had been served and any cleaning done, they seemed to have very little to do. Since we wanted privacy for a family vacation we negotiated around this issue. Private beach?

We loved our stay here, the hosts were awesome and the breakfast provided was great. Would definitely recommend.

We were a group of seven and had an absolutely amazing time at Dolce Vita! The property is private, beautifully maintained, and ideally located, offering a stunning view of the ocean. The staff were attentive and courteous, and the place was immaculately clean. The linens provided were fresh and neat, adding to the overall comfort of our stay. The location is perfect, with several eateries nearby, including an Indian restaurant for those craving familiar flavors. Bikes are available for rent in the vicinity, making it convenient to explore the area. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend Dolce Vita, especially for group travelers.
