The property is spacious and the bed was comfortable. The staff of the pub are also very friendly and welcoming.

When arriving I unfortunately had quite a bad experience. The entire place was freezing cold with no control of the heating, in which I had to go next door and ask the bar staff to turn it on and even then I had to wait hours just to get some hot water through the taps as obviously the boiler had been switched off. The living room had some form of liquid (assuming beer) thrown all over the wall and the blinds from a previous guest and had crumbs all over the sofa. Then when making my way up to the bedroom, the corners of the walls were full of cobwebs, which wasn’t ideal. I did speak to Fiona via messages on booking.com, in which she kindly offered me a full refund and to find accommodation elsewhere, which you can’t ask for more really. However with me staying for only a few nights, it wasn’t worth the hassle and I just stuck it out.

The accommodation was perfect for me to base myself while I was visiting my daughter. The car park at the rear of the building was useful and the staff were very helpful and approachable. The living room had Xmas lights and a tree and it was very cosy. The bed was very comfortable and I could have stayed in it for a week. I enjoyed an evening alone with YouTube music and wine and I felt very at home. I will be back for future visits. Loved it.

This is probably more about what other people may not like, but I will stress that this absolutely didn't bother me at all. The accommodation is bolted onto a pub and as you'd expect, it's noisy. The description of the property by the owners is very honest, thought and mentions this so I'd urge anyone considering staying here to read the description fully and appreciate the honesty. I stayed on a Friday night and there was noise until around 2am. However, I was awake myself, anyway and I cannot stress enough that it didn't bother me at all. If you don't mind a late night and you can deal with a bit of noise, stay here. If you don't want any noise at all, it's not for you. But I loved it and I'll be back.
