Chapel House, Alderton

We enjoyed the location, which was handy for the places we were visiting. The house is comfortable with a good outside sitting/eating area.

We had a wonderful weekend at Chapel House. The beds were comfy and everything presented well. The bifold doors onto the garden are a lovely treat for indoor outdoor living. The views from the property are great and the accommodation spacious. Alderton is lovely. and we enjoyed discovering the local area.

However there is no hanging space in two of the bedrooms and there is not enough hot water for all guests to have hot showers. The tank is too small. The two showers also can't be used at the same time as the water pressure drops. The biggest problem with the house is the death trap of a dishwasher. Four of our party were hit by the door that opens violently at the end of the program. There is an aging sticker on the door warning this happens so the owners are aware and have chosen to do nothing about it. If a dog or a child were to be by the dishwasher when this happens it could be fatal the velocity of the opening is so strong. Please please address this before someone is seriously hurt.

Personally we would have appreciated a pod style coffee machine, as this is a rural location.

The house had everything we needed.

Sofa was too deep and sitting in it was uncomfortable without a lot of cushions behind it. Joining the road was a gamble as you didn’t have a clear view of the road due to the bend.

The sofa was quite low with big seats so couldn’t easily sit, more like laying, bed mattress’s were very soft, the property is near a bend so you couldn’t easily see if clear when leaving the drive- there was a mirror opposite but it was damaged so you couldn’t see anything in it
