5 Swallowsholm Cottage

Everything was absolutely beautiful and spotless. Everything we needed was there! The little town was charming, with amazing views and cozy nights spent in front of the fire.

The heating shut off at night and it got very cold. It would have been much better if we could control the heating ourselves, but the controls were locked. An electric heater was provided, but unfortunately it didn’t keep the space warm enough.

The place was amazing, everything we need was available, beautiful location.

The cottage is spacious airy and clean, modern kitchen plenty of utensils  etc. I understand it is a self catering cottage but after a long journey would have been a nice welcome gesture to see some basic essentials like small carton of milk, coffee, tea and a packet of biscuits.  Positive side It was lovely to get up each morning to see the most beautiful views outside our cottage. We enjoyed all the places near by, enjoyed walks, plenty breathtaking views, fresh air, it was blissfully peace and quite just what we needed on our break.

The property allowed pets but only one well behaved dog. Despite the rules on no shoes on the carpets. On the negative side cats were not allowed, especially in this day and age people have indoor cats that they often love taking them on holiday too. Although when we asked to take our 3 cats we were told only one was allowed. When we made arrangements for the two younger ones to stay at a cattery and replied that we will just take the old boy, they changed their mind because the owner often stays at the property and was allergic to cats. Which was a shame as our 3 cats would have loved the cottage and it was such a lovely set up for our well behaved cats.
