Casinhas Vale de Mouro

We were very disappointed. Like everyone here, we booked the apartment, thinking it was located in the city center of Melides, as listed here on Booking. Once booked and paid (you have to pay in advance because there is no host contact), the host sent us the actual location of the apartment which was at least 1km if not more outside the village of Melides, accessible by a sandy road only. We confronted her and her only reaction was that if we weren’t happy with the location we could easily cancel the reservation and get a refund. As it was 5pm and there were no other apartments available at this point, this was no option for us (we are bikepacking and can’t just ride several kilometers further). We ended up staying but felt ripped off. Concerning the apartment it was decent. It had the equipment which is needed for a longer stay and it was clean. The drains in the bathroom were smelly and the wifi hardly connected in our apartment.

The apartment was lovely, with a nice terrace overlooking the countryside. It was very clean and nicely decorated. There is also a nice pool although we didn't have a chance to use it.

It was very difficult to find as there are no signs and the address provided takes you to the tourism office, not the apartment.

The apartment was very pleasant and comfortable. The bedroom was very nice and cosy - I slept very well. The kitchen had all the basics to prepare our breakfast and although we didn't cook, it would have been possible to prepare simple meals. Everything was very clean. We sat outside relaxing in the terrace and in the small swimming pool with view to nearby fields. The surroundings are quiet, it is just in front of a cafe and supermarket and within walking distance to restaurants in Melides Town. The beach is only a few km away.

We didn't like the fact that the sofa bed didn't have a mattress (therefore not usable as a bed) but we were two girls and slept together in the double bed. We contacted the hosts by phone and asked for a refill of hand soap in the bathroom which was almost over and a few extra rolls of toilet paper (there was only one) and, although they said they would refill it, they didn't do it. Since we only stayed two nights and a long time outside the apartment, we didn't insist but this was the main downside of this apartment. Customer service could be better.

the location was very good. in Melides, just in front of the bid supermarket, 5 km from the beach, nice little swimming pool

it could have been slightly cleaner (there was a lot of dust) and better accessorised but when we asked the host would bring us what we needed (hairdryer, bottle opened as the one we bad broke) the a/c in the room is very noisy.
