Lake Acres Guest House

I chose this place based on the ratings, yet it was nothing close to what was mentioned. Worst choice i didnt even sleep at this place, had to look for alternative place

The place is very clean, the on suite bathroom is perfect and the bed is very comfortable.

I was waiting for more than half an hour outside the gate, hooting for someone to open the gate for me l finally caught the eye of a neighbor who assisted me in getting in contact with the manager who came to the car but was on the one with the owner fir another 10 minutes before she even made eye contact with me. Didn't say hello or nothing, just said I can come in and have a look at the room and then decide if I want to stay or not. Finally opened the gate for me and I decided to stay, the manager tried to do what she could for me after that but I got the sense the owner was reluctant, I had to ask for the wifi three times, and even after connecting to the modem, there was no wifi at any time. I let them know that I will be leaving the next day at 06:00 the next morning and they assured me they would be there to let me out, by 06:16 the still were not there, so finally I had to wake another guest staying in one of the other rooms to ask het to close the gate behind me, because I could not wait any longer. This is the first ever negative review I have ever left any business, but felt that anyone considering booking a room in this house via Booking.com needed to know they will not be prioritized as it seems they are more interested in housing government employees that almost pay double the normal rate. I have no idea how they got a rating of 7.7 on this platform with this type of customer interaction.

It was perfect. Central. It even had electric blankets as Kokstad can get really cold in winter.

There was no prior communication. The welcome was not warm but we got everything we needed.

It was in a safe location

The bed headboard fell off on day 1, water was also a bit cold that night.. for this value the property should consider maybe adding breakfast.
