"Schade, aber wir kommen nicht wieder"

5.0

"A lovely villa, highly recommended apart from the lack of aircon. Be aware of the Olive Oil plant"

9.0

This is an excellent villa. About 15 minutes walk outside of Vodnjan, or a few minutes by car. It is quite isolated, which we really liked - in a gated compound that feels very secure. It is in the grounds of an Olive Oil bottling plant - so there is noise of tractors and vehicles during the day - but we weren't disturbed by this. The facilities are excellent - a lovely pool, sun loungers and a sofa & tables under cover by the pool as well as a table for 6 next to the house with patio door access. This also had a gas BBQ. The house is very well fitted out with a good kitchen and big fridge freezer - it would be easy to prepare full meals in here, even though we only had BBQ. Bathrooms are good, and bedrooms are fine - 2 x doubles and a twin.

There is only one aircon unit in the hall - this really isn't ideal, and I would suggest it doesn't really count as an air-conditioned property! There are big fan units in the bedrooms, but they don't cool the air, just move it around. We left the unit on in the hallway all week, 24x7 which we wouldn't normally do - just to try and move cool air around the house. I would strongly recommend the owners to put a unit in each room and one in the common space - I would pay a bit more for the house, and it would probably save on power over the long term as we would turn them all off when out!
