DON DET Souksan Sunset Guesthouse and The Xisland Riverview Studio

The room was great, bathroom fine, only the a/c didn't have much power, but just enough for us, combined with the fan. The location is superb around sunset!

They tend to be more expensive with arranging tickets as well as the restaurant.

Beautiful place to stay close to all of the restaurants and bars at the top of the island. Great hammocks for sunset. Easy to lay back and just take it easy here. Air con was a god send in the humidity. Staff were very nice and helpful too

Simple clean rooms with a great view!

The food / breakfast at the restaurant is decent but there are many options in the village that are better value for money.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel was wonderful and the personnel was lovely. Would recommend this hotel for sure! The sunset is really beautifull!

The only god thing I can write about this place is the location which has a nice view from the balcony.

The room at $27,- is extremely overpriced. During our month in Laos we had rooms that were $20 or just below that were so much better than this room. - Bedlinnen is full with stains so we slept in our thin cotton sleeping bags. Next to that it is repaired bedlinnen which would be a good thing if it was clean. - Also mold in the mattress. - Same goes for the towels that were not white any more but yellow and full of brown stains. Also here we used our own towels after showering. - Facet is molded and silicon in the bathroom is molded. I know it is the tropics but maintaining your bathroom is a very easy task. - It was also the first bathroom where we showered on our slippers as it was okayish clean.

Such a perfect, private guesthouse which had everything I needed for my 2 night stay. Room included Air con and Wifi which worked well. I paid an extra few dollars for the river view room and was not disappointed overlooking the Mekong River. The balcony was great equipped with a hammock to relax on during the day. Room was spacious and bed was comfy. Only 2 minutes walk to the ferry terminal (the even owner met me when I first arrived) and places to eat or drink. You can rent a bike here for only 20,000K. Highly recommend anyone visiting Don Det in staying here.
