Casa Tramonto a Mare

We were there for three days to visit Pompeii and the other sites related to Vesuvius 79 AD eruption. The house was PERFECT for this. It was a short drive to the Pompeii site. It was a short drive to the Stabia history museum (which everyone should go to) and it was an equally short drive to two important sites that are part of the Pompeii park, but separate (Villa San. Marco and Villa Arianna). There were great restaurants within walking distance of our room. The beach was also nearby. And we had a lovely backyard outside eating area, had we chosen to use it. The kitchen was also a nice convenience. The proprietors also have two nearby bars (cafes) that are open for breakfast and coffee. These are also within walking distance (in fact, when you arrive, you go to the first one to collect your keys). In short, we would definitely go back.

Nothing could have been better. When we got there, Booking had confused our rooms, so she had one open that had one bed. I was with my aunt, so that wouldn't work so well. The owner quickly readjusted, and opened a second room that had multiple beds and a kitchen. Same price. The only issue was this room had not yet been made ready for the season, so both the proprietor, and my aunt and I had to be willing to compromise a wee bit. In our case, it took a day to air the place out, and the first morning there was a problem with the hot water heater. The owner had it fixed within a couple of hours. She was amazing.

Local Cafe was great with friendly staff, excellent coffee and delicious pastries. One staff member spoke English and was very kind and helpful. Handy to catch ferry to Positano and Amalfi from Castellammare.

No blankets at all. Was a bit cold at night. No electric jug to make a cup of tea despite having a kitchen. No milk, tea or coffee or oil for cooking. Not enough basic toiletries like shower wash.
