"Traditional Kyoto town house"

The machiya was spacious and comfortable and made us feel right at home. All facilities were easy to use and clean. Housekeeping made sure that we had fresh towels every day, which was especially useful in the Kyoto heat. The house is tucked away in a quiet residential street off of Senbondori, where several busses connect residents to the city centre and train stations across the city. Would definitely book again!

Nothing really particularly negative but more of a practical matter: if travelling with a lot of luggage it can sometimes be tricky to move around Kyoto by bus and since the house is not close to trains or the subway, travellers are advised to rely on taxis when arriving or leaving the place.

"Classic Japanese Townhome"

Super quiet and relaxing. This is a traditional Japanese home, so know what you’re signing up for. Tatami + Futon beds and western beds upstairs. Spacious digs in such a vibrant city. Easy to bus around where you want and the bicycles available for free use were a nice touch.

Keeping the volume down was sometimes difficult, but we didn’t receive any complaints. Mosquitos were a bit of a nuisance, thankfully the property is equipped with bug spray. Just make sure to bring your own body-safe bug repellent.

"If you want traditional Japanese accommodation stay here😁"

We loved the villa for its traditional feel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They replaced our towels and gave us bottled water every day. It was close to a 7/11 shop and Lawsons. We had an amazing meal at Yokatto.

How far out from Kyoto it was located. It didn’t have a great way to dry your clothes and we had to ask for an ironing board and iron because they get extremely wrinkled in the machine.
