Great location for my needs. Very comfortable, homely place. Excellent staff. Excellent Food range available in the restaurant. Breakfast was awesome!

The hotel has lots of character and is clearly work in progress re refurbishing the rooms, which although dated are spotlessly clean and comfortable. Storage was tight, so although fine for a couple of nights stay it would be cramped for any longer. The staff are excellent and very friendly. The food is also excellent and the restaurant and bar has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The sea view is pretty special too. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Minor improvements could be made to improve the room before full refurb such as thicker curtains to block out the light, fix sticking cupboard door and fix hot water tap in the basin (the shower, although very small, was very good though)

Calder House hotel was great! Lovely old home with superb bar, meals and friendly staff. Great access to the beach although it was a drizzly day when we visited sadly. Our room looked out over the sea and was awesome to relax in.

Not so much didn’t like, but a check on the lightbulbs which may require changing would be good. We had three not working in our bedroom/bathroom.

Surprised by location- used as base to get to Coniston and Windermere

Amazing place really close to the beach , I manage when I wake up in the morning to swim in the water , food is great and overall I highly recommend to everyone travelling to this area.

So close to the beach. Our little dog Dave, my wife and I loved sand and the sea. Lots of paddling and sunbathing. Staff were amazing and welcoming. Food delicious and accommodation really comfortable with an amazing sea view.

Having to come home!
