My stay for one week at the home stay in Negombo was really good, though with only basic amenities. It was a peaceful and clean environment. The host would check if I needed any assistance everyday. Worth the price..

I wouldn’t recommend this guy Instead of asking for our passports, he went in our room and took them while we were at the grocery store. The next morning we left for Sigiriya without noticing that our passports were missing. In the evening he called us and lied to us that we forgot them under the table, which was absolutely not true cause we carefully checkt the room before leaving. We had to travel back vor 6h again to get our passports 😠

Liked the environment and the ambiance of the place. It was really peaceful with lots of green around. The rooms were nice and clean enough. A/C's were functional in all rooms. Easy check-in and check-out as well.

The rooms did not come with any amenities that are usually provided. For example, among the basics, there was no drinking water, soaps and toilet paper. What was really unpleasant was that when we asked if we could get some bottled water (it was our first day in Sri Lanka and we didn't go to any market to buy water), the host completely ignored it. I think the least he could have done was let us know that it was not in his policies. Although this isn't an issue if you have arranged transportation, but the hotel is at the end of a narrow alley. It is also a bit hard to get uber or taxi from there to get around. Since it is around 20-25 minutes from the airport, we chose not to stay at this hotel before our return flight.
