"Lovely, calm and relaxing place to stay, basic facilities but perfectly adequate for a weekend away"

8.0

Love the peace and quiet, the calmness, the historic building, the grounds and location. The Monastery felt very safe. Guests are advised of 'quiet times' which was great - there really was no noise, apart from an occasional vehicle on the road. Probably not the best location for young children because of the need to control noise. Room was basically appointed but had tea and coffee facilities, a TV, ensuite bathroom. Bed in one room was very comfortable Breakfast is self serve and again, the basics but adequate (bread, toaster, crumpets, egg boiler, cereals, fruit bowl, coffee/tea, juice.). Happy to assist with dietary requests Parking limited but managed to get a space. Road parking available Good value for money Shower flow amazing - not over powerful, but was like showering in a waterfall!

As a working monastery, the availability of staff was sketchy. Nobody available at checkout time (Sunday morning, so possibly understandable, but no instructions on how to self checkout and where to leave keys) Bathroom had patches of damp with mildew in the shower and dusty skirting boards. Minor issues and did not affect overall satisfaction Mattress in one room hard and uncomfortable - at end of its life perhaps. Second room bed great however.

Breakfast was a little disappointing, it was just a continental self service- the grounds are beautiful, the shower and bed were lovely and the room was warm, if a little basic. All in all a good place to stay with everything you need in beautiful surroundings.

It was all perfectly adequate.

"Perfect for one of a few nights stay close to home."

10.0

This was our first stay at Mirfield monastery. Our first visit was to a friends wedding, therefore when we were asked to join the for the Christmas Dinner & Dance, we were thrilled. It’s friendly and welcoming staff, clean rooms and next door to the monastery venue! Bonus.

Nothing springs to mind. It’s great value for money and all the basics were provided and more. Which is usually lacking in other accomodation we have strayed at.
