Penthouse w Private Rooftop and Free parking

the flat is spacious, bright with large windows, modern, well-furnished and tidy with a nice rooftop view. the communication with host is quick and straightforward via whatsapp. very good location as there are a lot of places to visit nearby. the check-in and chek-out are contactless, the host sends all the information via whatsapp. free parking space.

even though the check-in and check-out process instructions are clear and straightforward, if you travel alone by car it would be very problematic to open the gate and park the car due to the remote control of the gate being in the apartment itself when you arrive. so you would either have to stop and put on emergency lights in a busy one-way street in the centre of budapest (would not recommend) to get the remote control and rush back to the car to open the gate, or send someone else to get the remote while you roam around with the car so you would not block the street and have them open the gate for you. while the apartment is incredible, part of the building (4th floor) the apartment is located in is probably undergoing reconstruction and the building looks abandoned and does not look nice at all. also we did not trust the elevator as it looked unreliable and dirty so we just used the stairs, so it might take a bit of work to carry the luggage into the apartment, the elevator goes up to the 3rd floor and the apartment is located on the 4th floor. (i realize this is not the host's fault) the flaws are minor and we would choose this accommodation again in the future :)

The check in process was, for a skeptical American, hard. It would be helpful in the future if guests receive an email letting them know they are required by Hungarian law to download their passports; they will be asked to do so via an app outside Booking.com; they will be required to have that app (GuestVacation I think) and also they will be contacted via WhatsApp, which I did not have. Checkin was VERY challenging. However, Roland came to check us in and explained the passport thing. It wound up fine. For a long time we thought we were being scammed but the space and Roland eased our concerns.
