Lalibela Wildlife Reserve - Tree Tops Safari Lodge

We stayed at Lentaba Lodge in the Lalibela Game Reserve and enjoyed several aspects of our visit. The location offers lovely views, the villas are cosy, and the guiding team was very good.

Compared to other lodges we’ve visited — especially Inzolo Lodge — the overall experience at Lentaba felt noticeably less personal. The staff came across as rather detached, which is unusual for a lodge environment where warm, attentive service is typically a highlight. We also didn’t enjoy the communal dining setup with a single large table; while suitable for groups, it doesn’t offer much privacy for couples. The villas, although clean and comfortable, are beginning to feel dated and would benefit from an update in the near future. The biggest disappointment for us was the food, which was the weakest of our entire trip and felt closer to a 3-star standard (the breakfast buffet was really appalling, and dinner buffet not much better to be honest) than what you would expect from a 5-star lodge. We wouldn’t recommend this lodge for travelers who value privacy, high-quality food, or a warm and personable guest experience.

Very nice lodge, good food, good driver, friendly service.

The do ask a high price for what they offer and our room was very close to the pool and thx to a big group of Americans very noisy, but overall it was a great experience.
