Mini Suite Roman Agora

The mini suite’s location is second to none. If you’re in Thess for a city break and looking for a base to operate out of, you could stop reading right now. Almost everything is reachable on foot within a 20-25 minute radius. You really are a few minutes from the Roman forum. There are good bars in the area right nearby as well as a supermarket, and great bougatsa (Bougatsa Vasillis) within 5 minutes. Buses from the airport stop a few minutes away. The bed is comfortable, shower reasonable, and the air conditioning was both powerful and quiet. I didn’t use any of the amenities for cooking, but there was a reasonable selection of tools that looked to be in good condition, as well as a microwave. (Are you really going to cook if you’re on a city break to somewhere renowned for its food?) Check in and check out was easy — lock box outside the apartment — and communication with the host was straight forward and prompt. Overall, excellent value.

Not much. I don’t love shower curtains but this one was reasonably effective at keeping the water in the shower. Wi-Fi was also a little sluggish at times, but that may not matter to you (it didn’t inconvenience me). The property was a little smaller than I had imagined, but not small and more than adequate for a brief stay.

Great location, cozy studio apartment, all needed facilities. The hosts had the room ready earlier and let me know.

Nice, well-furnished studio in a block of flats with windows overlooking the street. The area is very pleasant, within walking distance of the city centre. There are cafes, restaurants and a grocery store on the same street. Perfect place for a couple or a single traveller.

There are stairs to the suite, which may be a problem for those with heavy luggage or difficulty climbing.

- Perfect location - all main attractions reachable in a walking distance, many restaurants and cafés just few minutes away - Studio has everything that we needed for a few days stay - incl. hairdryer, iron, all the basic kitchen items (camping stove, pans, dishes, but also stuff like salt, pepper, coffee, tea etc., which we didn’t need to remember to buy ourselves) - Great contact with the staff - Sue gave us in advance very detailed instructions on how to get to the place and how to use the boiler (it heats the water very fast, so it wasn’t ever a problem), also we really appreciated that Sue gave us heads up of the special event going on in the city, so we could go and watch the airforce show by the sea - I really appreciate such small things, which make the whole experience so great 😊

Very minor things, but still just to mention: - The bed was unfortunately uncomfortable - for a very short stay I guess it would be okay, but the 4th night was altready a little challenge for our backs - The street is quite noisy - you simply must close the window at night, otherwise it is impossible to sleep (there’s a restaurant across the street, which is quite busy during the weekends)

The room is very conveniently located next to the Roman Agora and a short, slightly uphill walk from the centre of the town. It's close to all shops and transport and a 40-minute bus ride from the airport. The owner is extremely helpful in providing useful information. The room is small but functional and it was spotlessly cleaned.

The room is on the mezzanine floor and as there's no lift, people with mobility issues will be presented with a challenge.
