SVUSAdorable property with some rooms that overlook the lake. Restaurant food was above average. We stayed in one of the Villa rooms - modest up charge that was worth it. Nice patio overlooking the lake - we bought a bottle of wine and enjoyed sunsets.
Grounds are a bit tired. Service was a bit slow but that seems to be average for El Salvador. No hot water in shower
USThis lovely hacienda was absolutely perfect for us in every way. We had two huge beds in a family-sized duplex bungalow with private parking at the end of a semi-private path lined with ornamental plants and beautifully lit up with tiny lights at night. The beds were super comfortable and the shower was great. Our room had multiple ceiling fans and an A/C, but we didn't need either. Our room came with its own private garden outside our back door, with a comfortable sitting and working area surrounded by huge mature plants and an unbelievably gorgeous view over lake Suchitlan and the surrounding rural countryside. Our typical Salvadorean breakfast on the terrace of the associated restaurant was incredibly delicious, and featured more gorgeous views. The entire compound is at the very end of the road, very near to the historic town center but quite secluded and quiet, with huge grounds, including a lovely garden and a swimming pool. There were lots of birds, which were fun to watch. With so much space and so much privacy all at the same time, it felt like a getaway that could be perfect for a small wedding or family reunion. What we loved most is that it felt so typical and not touristy at all.
