Tapada De Sao Domingos

Beautiful property in a wonderful location. Sebastião our host could not have done more for us. The pool was absolutely amazing and we loved sitting out on the terrace in the evening and enjoyed a couple of BBQs as well. The property feels very private. The property is very handily located for so many excursions. We rented a car (and so handy to have EV charging on site!) but there is a bus stop at the bottom of the drive to the property. We took a lovely trip to the beach (on Sebastião’s recommendation) and it was only 25 minutes drive away. A fantastic spot for a relaxing break!

Everything was wonderful. The pool has fresh spring water which makes it amazing to swim in, but it is not heated. When we come next we will bring wet suits for our young children as they got a little cold some days in the pool when the sun wasn’t shining (although fine for adults!)

Extremely well equipped property, comfortable for all and the pool area and BBQ is fantastic. The real gem is Sebastião, extremely helpful and accommodating before arrival, very friendly, welcoming and generous during stay and also extremely responsive

The view from the pool was amazing and the rooms were 5 star. Every detail was thought of from Towels to utensils. Sebastião was an amazing host and really made it feel like a home away from home.

Honestly Nothing

Beautiful setting and property. Extremely friendly and helpful host - nothing was too much to ask. Close to Porto, but the surrounding area is worth exploring with a beautiful beach close by.

Villa looked lovely upon arrival Some issues with cleanliness under the twin beds and someone’s beard trimmings on the bathroom sink.

A circa 20 acre fire began to engulf the forest surrounding the villa after 24-48 hours of our arrival, inhaling the smoke made us all so unwell that we had to leave. My 7 year old was really struggling. The roads surrounding the villa were closing rapidly so we packed up our things and left 2 days early. Appreciating that the fire wasn’t the host’s fault but our issues were: - the forest surrounding our villa was scorched black from prior recent fires, there is no mention of this risk on the advertisement - we were also told by a local that the villa is situated in one of the oldest, largest, driest forests in northern Portugal, so is prone to fires, no prior risk flag on advert - our host was insistent throughout that there was no risk, everything was beautiful and didn’t take our concerns seriously, which was alarming in the circumstances were people nearby were being evacuated and warning alarms were sounding - when the villa became totally uninhabitable due to the smog, and inaccessible due to road closures, I asked for a refund of part of our stay and we were offered a nominal amount of 170 euros. The fact that this villa is situated in a high risk fire area should be disclosed on the advert.

We had a perfect stay here. The accommodation and swimming pool were beautiful and the host was so welcoming. Porto was easy to get to by both car and bus, although we'd recommend having a hire car for this location

The pool was a very good size. Fed by a clean spring without the chemicals. The terrace has a fantastic view across the Douro Valley. An old farm building lovingly restored with a clean modern interior. Even the two en-suite showers had great views.
