The Bliss Hostel Kandy

I’ve stayed at The Bliss Hostel Kandy four times before, totaling 8 nights, and always appreciated the friendly and welcoming staff. They’ve consistently been kind and helpful, which is why I kept coming back. However, during my most recent visit, I was surprised and disappointed to be asked for advance payment—something that was never required in any of my previous stays. It felt unexpected and unprofessional, especially considering my history as a loyal guest. I suspect this change may be due to new staff, who unfortunately don’t seem to treat returning customers with the same respect and courtesy as before. This shift in attitude really affected my experience. I hope the management takes note and restores the warm, guest-friendly approach that made this place worth returning to.

I had high hopes for The Bliss Hostel Kandy , but my stay was a complete letdown. The washroom was filthy, with a strong odor and visible grime that made it unusable. Even worse, the bedsheets were stained and clearly not changed, which is unacceptable for any accommodation. There were insects crawling around, and the overall hygiene was appalling. I couldn’t relax or feel comfortable during my stay. Management needs to seriously address cleanliness and maintenance issues. I would not recommend this place to anyone until they make major improvements.

Este hostel debería salir en las guías de viaje; agua caliente, limpieza y muy económico. La señora que lo lleva es un amor, nos preparó cena y desayuno muy rico. Si buscas lujo disfrazado de sencillez y hospitalidad… este es tu sitio.

Nice welcome, we have appreciated the quiet of the hotel and the wonderful garden. Breakfast was délicious and price is more than OK ! We fully recommended this place
