my Grandaughter and her partner went here for a couple of days for his birthday. their first trip away and they couldn’t have been made more welcome ! hosts are amazing the spot is beautiful and completely off grid. the pool was beautiful and the surroundings. they were even saved at 3 am when a bat flew in their hut 😂😂😂 swimming and boating in the lake , cooking outside walking thru the forest. to hear a teenager say “ who needs wifi “ sums it up

"Good for the soul"

10.0

We spent 3 nights in Sapphire forest garden shepherd’s hut. Sapphire is beautiful inside and out; tastefully decorated and well-equipped with a wickedly comfortable bed, twinkly lights, beautiful views and a mighty efficient little log burner – so cosy. You’re provided with kindling and logs to make it up again daily. There are pans, crockery and glasses in the hut and you can prepare food in the outdoor kitchen area just across from Sapphire, using the camping stove. We savoured free range duck eggs and toast for breakfast every day – what a treat! There’s a fire pit and you can buy a barrow of logs for evenings outside around the fire. You can charge any electricals you need with a USB cable inside Sapphire. The compost loo is comfortable, clean and charming. The hosts are working on constructing a shower now, but with summer upon us it was lovely having a wash al-fresco (in fact I recommend it) – just take a sarong or hammam towel, find a pretty spot and enjoy feeling free and invigorated when you wash amongst the trees! The pool is also a beautiful place to enjoy the boat, take a swim, or chill in the Tea-Den. Here you are surrounded by acres of trees and biodiversity. Birds in abundance, flowers and bees… The hosts are kind and welcoming; they’ve created a sanctuary for wildlife and their guests. We have already recommended the place to our friends, will definitely be going back and if you’ve read this review this far then to you, too – I highly recommend you stay in this magical place. It’s good for the soul. Thank you Merav and Janta 🙏

Really cosy shepherd hut equipped with everything we needed. Wood burning stove (kindly prepared by hosts) a a highlight and meant even though it was pouring with rain at night we were nice and warm inside

"Great place to stay for peace and quiet. Friendly hosts, and lovely location."

Location was great, lovely views. It was great that we could come and go from the lodge and felt welcome in the grounds.

If there was access to a shower at some point in future, that would make me think of staying longer than a couple of days

"perfect for a tranquil, relaxing retreat"

10.0

Perfect for a retreat, cosy private cabin with a lovely seated area around a lake. The option of swimming or going in a boat on the small lake was taken advantage of too. Located very close to the village (5 min walk), beautiful surroundings.

"A Magical Place."

10.0

A real pleasure to stay somewhere who's active permaculture is seen in all the birds trees and widlife. We we're given a guided tour of the woods which the owners had planted themselves, a real privilege to stay there.
