"Visited Orkney for its nature and wildlife and was out all day. Good place to stay. Lovely owner."

Grocery store right around the corner. Easy to make walks from along the coast.

No stove (but you learn to use the air fryer and slow cooker easily)

"Lovely setting and very comfortable accommodation. Good options for basic self-catering"

8.0

Good location good size for one. Warm and clean. Amenities for making own food. Very helpful hosts

A minor issue easily fixed (I forgot to mention on leaving) the shower door handle is missing making it challenging to open if you aren’t tall enough to reach over the door to open. Also the shower door leaked at the bottom leaving a lot a water on the floor and not shower Matt. Ideally addressing the leaks woulb best best but a shower mat essential. A few suggestions for the self catering part. I had to ask for a can opener from the hotel kitchen as not supplied and I didn’t notice a bottle opener either. Was surprised to find an air fryer which was great but I hadn’t brought any oil or things to cook with. As a short stay on a remote with limited local food options if you don’t eat meat, better knowledge of the facilities for cooking so I could bring stuff to help with the cooking (eg spray oil) would have been helpful and made my self catering easier.
