Heating took a while to come up. No light breakfast like milk and pastries.

Every amenity you need from a self contained accommodation and then some. Really easy access, designated parking space, comfy beds, travel cot / Highchair / iron board all in the cupboard.

A great value in Lexden. Beds were very comfortable. Owner/manager was very responsive and extremely helpful. I was able to get a hold of him with no difficulty for assistance and got the help I needed. Excellent pub (Donkey & Buskins) just 3 minutes down the road. Access to Colchester and surrounding areas. Quiet neighborhood and has its own parking spot.

Overall, the apartment was clean but fairly dusty, especially baseboards and most flat surfaces that aren't generally used. It took nearly 6 hours for the heat to finally turn on. Luckily the owner has a space heater to keep you warm in the event it hadn't been turned on prior to arrival. If you're planning on visiting Colchester, it's about 15 minutes to the historic areas and requires a car, unless you are an expert with the public transport. These are fairly small issues given the overall value. I would still recommend a stay at this property.
