"Friendly and welcoming"

We stopped here as a halfway point between a visit to Mackinac Island and our home in Indianapolis. We were greeted by Skye upon our arrival and made to feel most welcome. Our room was nicely appointed and clean. Breakfast was very good with a variety of items. We got a great nights rest and we’re refreshed when we hit the road the next morning.

"Great comfortable overnight stay..."

Super clean property! Well decorated. Big room with nice comfy king bed. Clean sheets, surfaces clean, no odor in room. Sparkling bathroom. Breakfast was delicious, coffee great. Some road noise in hotel but not too bad. I would stay here again.

"My Anniversary"

I was in for my Anniversary with my husband and Jim & Brian at the front desk couldn’t have been better!!! The accommodation at this Fairfield Inn was fantastic! The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating!! I would definitely come back again and definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

"Bed Bugs"

This is an addendum to my son's review. We have traveled a lot over the years with 2 kids playing travel hockey. We have stayed in a countless number of hotels. We check the beds for bugs every time, doesn't matter how much we paid or outward appearance of the hotel. Over the 10+ years we've been doing this, we have discovered a bed bug once. But we still check. Sure enough, my son discovered one right away at the foot of his mattress. Now, this can happen to any hotel, they can only control so much. It's their reaction that turned me off. The desk clerk, believe his name was Ken, came in, looked at it, then quickly squished it with his finger and swiped the remains away and declared it "lint." C'mon! We watched it moving! My kid even pulled up photos on his phone and confirmed what we found. Declaring it lint does not solve the issue this hotel has. We had gotten our stuff out of the room as soon as we made the discovery. After the clerk dispatched the "lint," we were at the front desk with, I assume, the manager. This person said she didn't know what was going on because she wasn't there while Ken just kept repeating "lint." I was offered another room. I declined and made arrangements for us to stay elsewhere.

"Bed bugs"

We went in to our room after we checked in, checked the beds for bed bugs as usual and found one right away. The manager smashed it and acted like it was lint. It was clearing moving and had a brownish golden reflection on it when a light shined on it. The fact that he lied to us and the hotel has bed bugs makes this a 0/5 if I could

"TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE"

It’s 3 AM, my baby is screaming and we are wide awake because a bridal party was placed directly above us and is obnoxiously loud. The music and voices come through the vents and when I called down the woman told me “you know how it is, there’s nothing I can do”.... tell that to my screaming 1 year old. Disgusting.

"Excellent Cumstomer Services"

Was there for a State of Michigan Bowling Tournament and was unable to stay at the host hotel for the tournament, which was not a disappointment, because the accommodation at this Fairfield Inn was superb. Was given a room initially which was clean and roomy enough for two people, but it was three of us and "Brian" the Hotel Manager quickly responded to our needs and we were able to move to a more spacious room to meet our one night stay. Thank you, Brian. Saying all this, it should also be noted that each employee from desk personnel to housekeeping, were friendly and welcoming.

"Disappointed "

I was at this property for 2 nights and picked this hotel due to it’s location Jim who was working the front desk when I checked in was amazing. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He was the one bright spot of this hotel. The room is very outdated. It’s old and tired looking. Bedding is scratchy and beds are uncomfortable The shower didn’t drain Room was pretty clean The second night the girl working the front desk was CLUELESS. She answered every question with , I don’t know. The person before me asked for additional pillows and her response was I don’t think we have any. Really ?!? This is a hotel !!! The woman at the desk the next morning was nice and pleasant Breakfast was fine. Due to the dated room and the girl working in the evening I wouldn’t recommend nor would I return to this property.

"Poor customer service"

We stayed here on Saturday, 11/17/18 with 2 guest rooms for family, reserved on Marriott Reward points. The rooms were dated but clean. The breakfast bar was also clean and offered the standard items. No issues. Our issues are: 1. At check in we were not offered a complimentary upgrade nor a token gift as Premier Elite members. Not a big deal but part of what Marriott hotels offer- and we appreciate that. The hotel was not at all full. 2. At checkout we were given our Folio showing a -0- balance for both rooms which we expected as we had incurred no room charges. 3. Two weeks later I received my Visa bill with charges of $29.12 for each room, total of $58.24. I called the hotel and got no where. 4. Next I’ve not been credited for the 500 standard MR points for this stay. Dawn at the front desk said she would take care it but those points have not shown up. I’m a loyal Marriott customer-if the front desk credits these Bonus points, they appear immediately in the MR account. 5. After 3 calls to the hotel, the last one yesterday to get the $58.24 charge resolved. After my call again yesterday I reached Supervisor Julie - she said that there was no record of our 2 stays on the 17th. She said we had stayed the dates of 11/8-11/11 which was incorrect. Finally she looked at the name she had before her and realized she had the wrong guest name. Her tone was not apologetic, rather impatient and I felt like a bother by the time we were finished. I have doubts she will resolve this matter. I won’t give up - may have to resolve via Marriott corporate to get this resolved. Sadly, Customer service is very poor here and gives Marriott a negative vibe. Won’t be staying here or recommending it.

"Missed Opportunities"

I want to take issue with a previous reviewer who cited “ramshackle” conditions of this hotel. That review may have been simply an upset customer, as this property is very well maintained with clean rooms and a very well designed and appointed common area. My straight to the bottom one star review is based on three serious issues which remove this Fairfield from my list until they submit the management for some dire-in-need training. Like you, I go to hotels “to sleep” and “to be safe.” After driving 700 miles to visit an ailing family member, I was exhausted. I double checked the stated 12 noon checkout time with the night auditor. At 10:35 AM housekeeping was banging on the door. When I stepped out of the room my key had been deactivated, and the front desk with a manager present handed me another key without checking my ID. Three strikes, I’m out. I have a high opinion of the Marriott brand standard. It is not present here when it counts. I did not choose a roadside one star, and have reasonable expectation the staff is not practicing when it comes to core principles of property purposes and guest safety in the modern climate of hospitality. This was a string of juvenile mistakes. This Fairfield is not only crossed off my list forever, it is scratched, checked, tagged and covered with graffiti off my list with skull and cross bones. A one star is harsh, and I know that. Yet, denying sleep when the customer does due diligence justifies a one star review when the front desk is handing out keys like candy. Try again, as this is absolutely unacceptable.
