There were no problems with the property at all.

This was our first time to stay at the Bahia Mar condominiums and the following are things that we appreciated compared to other properties we have stayed at: clean, well-kept and well-landscaped grounds; the pool area and deck overlooking the Gulf are beautiful; it was very family-friendly and a relatively quiet community (people were having fun, but the layout of the condominiums meant that the noise could be contained if you wanted to turn in early); staff were friendly, visible, and kept the area looking almost pristine; and the beach was very close and easy to get to. We also appreciated the security features, and the guys who worked the security hut were professional, helpful, and friendly. Our condo was very clean and well-equipped with the essentials in the kitchen. I also appreciated the thorough communication from Lourdes on behalf of property managment in advance of our stay.

The bed sheets were a little rough and could be replaced with softer sheets - but this was a minor thing.

Super location -- very close to the main pool and beach. Great security (gated, manned 24/7). Common areas are very well maintained and attractive. The condo unit was very, VERY clean and nice. Well provisioned - kitchen well equipped with appliances, pots, pans, dishes, cups, etc. Nice double kitchen sink. Loved the bedroom (2 bedroom) layout, with each having separate bathroom. Was able to contact the host with one very minor issue (a prior occupant had broken the clothing iron), and the host immediately arranged for a replacement iron to be delivered. Would definitely rent again for our next South Padre Island trip. Another amazing observation -- I didn't see one insect either in the condo unit, patio, stairwell, common areas, or pool area during our entire 3-day stay.

Only suggestion is to increase the HVAC air flow into the bedrooms. Got a little warm in the bedrooms, but overcame that with use of the provided fans to increase air flow. The HVAC temp (you can set your own temp setting) in main living area and kitchen was fantastic.

Really nothing.

I didn’t have a good impression right off the bat. It was flooded in the kitchen and part of the dining room. We had to mop it up 2 times. It was freezing and we couldn’t get it even 70 degrees.

Great location! Beach access, plenty of parking, 24 hr gated security access. The condo was minimalistic, but had what was advertised. Owners were responsive to messages and gave us all the information we needed for an easy check in and check out.

The negatives were out of the control of the owners, but I thought I should still mention a few things. Although there are 2 pools, only one was open. Part of the deck area was under construction so it wasn’t relaxing to lay by the pool (I’m sure the construction will only take a couple of days, but of course it was happening when we were there). Additionally, it advertised as a heated pool, but the pool was freezing cold. It was spring break for the high schools and the condo had people who were partying until 2am for the first two nights we were there. (So first two nights we got horrible sleep). Additionally, there is a locked door to the outside directly next to one of the headboards in the master bedroom. Right outside the door is a staircase and we could hear everything outside (like cars) and anytime anyone walked up and down the steps. The other bedroom was quieter.
