Le Nautique Waterfront Hotel La Digue

The staff and atmosphere was very pleasant...sunset was just woah from my room

I'll start by saying that this was our second stop in Seychelles and the first place we stayed in, which was on Praslin, exceeded our expectations. So coming from that beautiful paradise here, we felt the lack of attention to details, which I'll talk more about it below. But there were many good things about this place. First of all, the cocktails. The bartender, Wisal, which is new in their team, is extremely creative. Our favourite part of the day was watching the sunset at the pool bar, with a delicious cocktail. The location is also very good - you have a nice view of Praslin, you're close to a lot of hotspots on the island, including restaurants, beaches, ATMs and shops. The reception offers bikes at a very decent price, which are much needed for getting from one point to the other. They also give you free umbrellas, which you can find in your room and are a great help when it's raining. The dinner is quite delicious, served in the little candle lit restaurant, facing the sea. Kavindu was really nice to set up a romantic dinner for us, as we were in our honeymoon. We ate here on two nights and really enjoyed the food. Room was clean and had a beautiful view. We really appreciated they gave us the one with the best view so we could enjoy every minute of our last days in Seychelles. And La Digue is a gem, probably the most relaxing and beautiful island of the archipelago. All in all, Le Nautique is a well maintained hotel, which will tick many of the boxes you might have when you think of a nice, waterfront hotel. But keep in mind there is no beach, if that's important to you, but there are many beautiful ones on the island, close by.

It would be rude to say we didn't like something, rather that some things were a bit annoying. I do believe that owning a hotel is not enough to turn you into a good host and for us, good hosting also means attention to details. Every breakfast, you get the same menu from which you can choose what to drink and what to eat. Drinks include "fresh juice of the day" and every day of our 5 days it was fresh orange juice. On a tropical island where you can find papaya, passion fruit and many other tropical fruits. And it was a very bad orange juice. The breakfast coasters for plates had a peculiar smell, like they never wash them. In our last 2 days, I prefered not having one. Otherwise, breakfast is okay, we enjoyed a lot the omelette and shakshuka. The cleaning ladies were at your door from 9am. If you were enjoying the breakfast, they were already cleaning the room, even though you didn't yet leave or had time to pack your things. I felt this daily pressure that I have to leave the room tidy even if I just go to eat and then come back to change, before leaving. They leave for you milk in the fridge, for your morning coffee, but if you finish the milk, no one notices. From the day we arrived, I told them we have a late flight on the day of our departure and they told us we can spend the whole day with them, they have showers and towels to give us. The showers was actually a beach shower, with cold water only and a very sandy floor. We were lucky in didn't rain at all that day, otherwise it might have been a problem. It's these little things that might make your experience at a hotel feel very special, or not. Our stay was good and I do recommend this place, for the great things it has. I just hope this kind of feedback can help them make this place even greater.
