GLI APPARTAMENTI DI PALAZZO UMBERTO I

This is a charming period property in the heart of Catania. All the main sites are within easy walking distance and the daily market is on the doorstep. The apartment is clean, comfortable and has basic self-catering facilities. It is also very secure. The host, Antonio, was an excellent communicator; very friendly and helpful. Public transport to and from the airport is nearby and very cheap.

It should be noted that the shower cubicle is very small. The configuration of the apartment means that it's not easy to address this without installing a wet room at considerable cost. This could make access difficult for larger guests. This is absolutely not a complaint, just a warning to the rugby players and the more comfortably upholstered (like myself)! 😀

We communicated with the owner via WhatsApp, he was always answering and helping quickly. The room was clean and well equipped with a mini kitchen and a refrigerator. Romantic interior and exterior. Shops and street food nearby.

Spacious apartment very close to the city center.

The walls had dirts and the bathroom and the floors weren’t clean enough as well. The shower had mold and the floor mat was dirty. The WiFi wasn’t working despite the restart we made repeatedly. The apartment is in first floor without elevator.

It had everything and was a big enough room, location was also good. had a balcony. Facilities (kitchen, bathroom) weren't too bad after using but

It didn't feel nice and cozy at all, huge room, very beautiful but poor and cheap furnishings and small AC gave it a very bad feel overall. the AC being too small took forever to get to a decent temperature. the pictures were very misleading to make it look nice.

We loved everything but mostly the location was perfect, in the centre of everything.

The owner was very friendly and share with us about nearby attractions and nice restaurants. The room was spacious and clean. We enjoy our stay a lot. Security is good.

The restroom is a lot small, yet well-equipped. Maybe because the install corner of air con and the room is too spacious, the cooling function is not so well, yet acceptable.

Location was great, close to many good restaurants and not far from the historical city centre.

Antonio wasn't there to meet me at the agreed time. Communication over the phone on how to gain entry and access to the keys i found difficult and frustrating. Sadly the room didn't match the lovely bright decor displayed in description. It was quite drab. There were many issues with this accommodation that needed attention to such as bathroom sink plug drainage broken, soap dispenser not working, air-cond not fully functioning, tea, coffee and sugar in need of fresh supplies and some stains on the bed cover were unsightly. Although Antonio came to the apartment following my initial concerns with the air-cond and bathroom only the soap dispenser was replaced. Naturally I could not recommend this property.

For 2 was a perfect place to stay.We had everything we need for our trip

Holiday was to short for Sicily! Ha ha ha!

The location is very good. In the middle of the old town. About 500 meters from the park. Next year will come again.
