Eakie House Apartments - Kinlochleven

It was very comfortable and cozy

We only had 1 roll of toilet paper between 4 people for 2 nights stay

This accommodation (ground floor apt.) was just average––even a below average if we compare with others. Even as the building is cute, has an interesting history, and is close to the village and to Grey Mare’s Tail (waterfall), it was not very comfortable or relaxing. // Four of us chose self-catering options while in Scotland so we could cook for ourselves, so we expected more than a hot plate (and only one burner worked at time). If you are planning on not much more than boiling eggs or heating frozen pizza, you’ll be fine. We arrived with groceries to make dinner. The host was responsive, kind, & understanding and had someone bring an adequately-sized pot for our use. // A small investment in a few small things could greatly improve the comfort and utility of this space. For instance, get rid of the hotplate and install a apt.-sized cooker (would take up the same amount of space––and even open up the kitchen space more). Provide bigger pots/pans and a few more kitchen utensils, including a sharp knife. Toppers for the mattresses would greatly increase comfort of the beds. // We imagine it is much better space overall for a larger group in combination with the upstairs apartment. As it was, because there was another group above us, it was quite noisy. We could hear conversations, the washer/dryer running, and every footstep above us. // Finally, as it turns out, our least favorite accommodation (for 2 out of 10 nights in Scotland) was the most expensive. Next to Eakie House at £295 per night for 2 bedrooms (not ensuite)––was in Luss, a stone’s throw from Loch Lomond, 3 ensuite bedrooms and a large and well-provisioned kitchen for £280. Our favorite and most comfortable place was on the Isle of Skye––at £193 per night for 2 ensuite bedrooms, a huge living room (w/ sleeper sofa) and kitchen/dining area.

Petite apartment well situated for Grey Mare Falls Glencoe and Ben Nevis exploration. Kids loved the morning deer wandering by. The falls walk was an easy 15min walk from the flat. Jenni kept us informed and solved issues. Peaceful base for busy days out!

Our plans changed but max 4 person occupancy very strict. We managed to get a hotel in Onich.

the location is quiet and convenient. good facilities provided everything we need as a group 8 persons. the upper floor kitchen has all the stuff we need. we are happy there are washing machine and dryer but we don’t have the washing powder :)

Bathroom - stale smell Noisy floorboards, but understand it’s an old building Living room needs dimmable lights - very bright and auto lighting does not work.

Property was clean and tidy with all essential facilities provided.

The host not answering the phone. It would be reassuring for the guests to know that the host was on the end of the phone, rather than relying on email. Jenni did respond to emails but we weren't to know that at the time. Property and facilities were basic. Typical rental property.
