Johnson's Beach Cabins and Campground

You should be ashamed of yourself for charging $450 for a tiny rickety room with no AC, no insulation. It was advertised that there was a shared kitchen on the property. There was not. My children and I ate cold chicken and rice for dinner. The bathroom/shower was so tiny it was laughable. The temperature of the water vacillated between cold and scalding, making it impossible to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. I could see the ground story below between the slats in the floors. The campsite adjacent held a karaoke party well past "quiet time". It is utterly preposterous to charge that amount of money for the value of this place. I will never go back and I would like financial compensation for the awful experience we had.

It’s locally centrally in Guerneville with just a few minute walk to Safeway and Main St. with all its shops and restaurants. Has its own private beach and easy parking.

No complaints, have been coming here for years and love it.

Location is great! Access to the Russian River and walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores. Food and beverage service right on the shores of the river. Nearby Armstrong Redwood preserve, and the ocean is a short drive away, with well maintained beach access and facilities.

It was hard to find the driveway to the campground at night

This was a terribly overpriced room with a filthy and rusted bathroom and unusable kitchen. There is no staff onsite and you are basically sleeping in a parking lot.

EVERYTHING WAS TERRIBLE

It was smack in Guerneville, close to eateries and shops.

Coming from River Bend Resort, which is another camping ground about 7 minutes away, Johnson's was a disappointment. There was all the inconvenience of staying at a campground but none of the charm of staying amidst the redwoods. The grounds were unkempt with dead leaves everywhere, and patchy and brown grass everywhere. It conveyed a sense of squalor. The layout of the camp was unimaginative, the cabins laid out in a grid like a concentration camp, and no shrubbery to provide each site with some privacy.

Uncomfortable bed, few room amenities, thin walls, loud.
