"Cobwebs, Spiders, Dirty taps and No access to beautiful gardens and grounds. Not so nice landlady!"

4.0

A cozy annex cottage in a secluded area and had most the amenities we needed. Simon the owner, was very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

The cottage had a lot of dust in areas, cobwebs and spiders in all the rooms/ beams and green grimy bathroom taps which needed a good scrub. We couldn’t use the vacuum as it wasn’t working and no dust pan and brush. We also didn’t like the fact that the owners restricted access to the beautiful gardens and grounds which is featured in their listing. We got shouted at and told by the landlady that the gardens are private property and we wasn’t allowed access to it or to take photographs. Which made us feel like we were trespassing and committing a crime. I told the landlady that the property listing is very misleading! As guests normally book stays on the basis of what they see in the property listing and pictures, therefore are under the impression that they will have access to it . I could have been a photographer and booked this property based on the grounds/ gardens to take lovely photos. The landlady said that this information would be taken on board, however a week later the gardens and grounds are still featured in their listing! Just be aware, the only garden area you have access to is next to the annex which is just grass and dirty old outdoor garden furniture provided for you. Also, a family member stop by the cottage for a few minutes and again we was quickly questioned and told by the landlady that NO other guests are allowed on their property, although we couldn’t see this anywhere on their listing. This landlady made us feel very uncomfortable, and like we were being watched. For £200 a night this is not the experience I envisioned for our stay at this property.

"Overall a very pleasant stay!"

8.0

The property was in the grounds of a beautiful country house and was very well presented.

Upon arrival the property was not very welcoming as the heating had only just been turned on. As a result of this we had to keep our coats on for nearly 3 hours! We asked for a heater in the meantime and this was provided. For the price we did expect more luxury in regards to the bedding and towels! Also the door handle fell off 🤣…otherwise ok !! However this did not affect our stay!

"Very good"

8.0

Spacious 2 bed annex next to the main house which the host resides in. The property is very pretty and in a quiet location. Functional kitchen with lots of pots and pans/utensils if needed.

Bedroom 2 bedsheets smelt damp. Bathroom wasn’t too clean; dusty and cobwebs. One of the showerheads didn’t work either.
