Executive Penthouse with unobstructed Views at The Elements by BRIC

Penthouse 24 at The Elements in Playa del Carmen is one of the best situated condos in the entire area. 3rd and 4th floor of the building with incredible ocean views (and sounds), a short walk to the main pedestrian (tourist/shopping/dining) street and great access to the non-touristic parts of town. The property management representative, Miguel, could not have been more helpful. We kept in touch by WhatsApp and he answered questions about good restaurants, helped us book parasailing and fishing, and more. He made a huge difference. The unit itself is a main floor with full kitchen, living and dining area, good size deck overlooking the ocean, a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and another bedroom with two bunk beds, and a 3/4 bath in the corridor. The upstairs is another master bedroom with its own bathroom/shower and a deck. You go to sleep looking at the lights of Cozumel and wake up to sunrise. It's just magical. They have a nice pool and a private beach club with chaises and thatched "umbrellas" to sit under, and you're then a 10 second walk into the water. Note: this is not really an area for snorkeling. The water is fine to go in and swim around but there isn't much to see as far as fish; after all it's basically sand, not reef, and not designed for fish-watching. That said, LOTS of scuba boats leave each morning from that beach along with fishing boats and on the next beach north there are guys renting jet skis, which I think are among the most fun toys in the world. We also like Playa a LOT more than Cancun. We were there over Christmas week. Around half of the tourists were Mexican. And there was very little of the annoying drunk 24-yr-old crowd and we never heard blasting dance music at night in Elements' quiet location. The town overall seems more family oriented and a little more upmarket than Cancun which was a good fit for us.

Really hard to think of anything. I mean, if you're down to "the water pressure in the kitchen sink was bad" then you don't have a lot of problems, right?
