"Peaceful escape from everyday life"

9.0

Our stay at The Stables at Ballywardcroft was a really lovely surprise. When you first pull up, it can catch you a bit off guard and you might wonder what to expect—but that feeling quickly disappears the moment you step inside. The space has been beautifully converted into a cosy, welcoming living area with a kitchen, a comfortable bedroom, and a well-finished ensuite. It’s thoughtfully laid out and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. What really made the stay extra special was the warm welcome from the host Kerry. She was friendly and accommodating, and the thoughtful touches didn’t go unnoticed—a lovely selection of homemade breads and a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us on arrival was such a nice surprise and set the tone for the stay. What really stood out overall was how warm and homely it felt. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in straight away, unwind, and enjoy the quiet. Despite the modest exterior, the inside is charming, comfortable, and full of character. All in all, it’s a great wee spot for a peaceful getaway, and we’d happily stay again.

"Very Good"

7.0

We loved the outdoor bath.and the homemade products to use in it.homemade bread was left out for us too which was nice ..nice quiet location . everything we needed really ..maybe a bit more fire lighter for the stove (which we could get lit) I know Kerry was just next door but I feel you shouldn't have to go ask for things ..they should be available and not skimp on it... like seeing the chickens (cock bird there too ) and the goats and they were put away into pen while our car was parked outside (so no jumping on it lol )

Didn't like the settee ..once it was put up from a sofa bed which was very low ..into a seat it was ok ..not like pics advertised..no hotbub as advertised either must of been replaced with the bath ..which is grand but needs to be amended on the ad..bed was comfy enough for me (I do prefer a soft mattress) . though it was very dusty especially in the bedroom and floors needed washed .I would also lift the fake grass around tub as it was soggy mess with the rain ect would be better with out it and a wee general tidy up/wash around outdoor area

"Disappointing"

4.0

Nice quirky little property which has some lovely features and the owner made some beautiful sourdough bread and dips.

Having saw the great reviews we were really looking forward to our stay but unfortunately I can’t say we have had the same experience. The property hadn’t been cleaned properly prior to our arrival, the floor was dirty, cobwebs and dust in the bedroom, hairs in the bathroom, bin in the bathroom also not emptied and the bedding was stained and looked like it hadn’t been washed. The tv’s also were not tuned in properly. The outdoor bath is only partially covered and as it was wet and windy there was debris in it. Such a shame because I think if the basics were addressed such as the cleaning it definitely would be a little peaceful haven.

"Lovely host, shame about the cleanliness as resulted in very unrelaxed stay"

4.0

Friendly host

Wasnt what we expected. Cleanliness is not up to standard.. dust, cobwebs and spiders everywhere and the smell of animal feces from the goats just over the fence whilst trying to relax in the open air bath was very unpleasant, nice outdoor area although unfortunately couldn’t make use of it as it was filthy as was the sofa my son was expected to sleep on. We have never complained about anywhere we’ve ever stayed however I feel like this was a total waste of money and time off work and we just couldn’t enjoy ourselves at all

"A slice of heaven in a world of chaos"

10.0

This really was a little slice of heaven. Such a cute set up. The outdoor bath was just unreal. Kerry was the most amazing host so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. All the little extras were just priceless, oat milk and rose petal for the bath, sourdough bread baked by Kerry. The Prosecco chilling in the fridge. I actually was genuinely sad to leave. The decor was just beautiful. I will definitely be back for slice of heaven part 2 !
