"Awful experience"

2.0

The booked accommodation was not available and was offered alternative in city centre instead of the area booked. Was not expecting to share the accommodation and the bathroom/toilet facilities with complete strangers. There was no garden, no balcony, no air-conditioning, no parking, no fully fitted kitchen and no breakfast. All of which were included in the facilities offered for the property I reserved. The property was on a busy city centre street, the windows did not close properly so there was traffic noise and the window coverings did not prevent the street lights.

"Decent choice for smokers and/or pet owners on a budget"

5.0

The location is very convenient (although it's not on Gospodara Vučića Street as the description says; it's on Banjalučka Street a few steps away). It's only 20 minutes by bus from the center of Belgrade, and the buses run so often I never had to wait for more than 5 minutes. There are several grocery stores, grill bars, cafes and restaurants nearby. The neighborhood is quite nice too. The wi-fi signal was very strong, I never had any problems watching videos or making video calls. The host was extremely helpful and kind. He left no stone unturned to make me feel truly welcome and assisted me in every way possible. There is a garden with beautiful blooming roses and other plants where you can sit and relax. You can ask the host to build the fire in the wood stove, which creates a very cozy atmosphere. Pets are allowed, which is a great advantage if you have some.

This accommodation is an outbuilding adjacent to the host's house. It's a private country-style house. On the plus side, there is a garden with roses where you can sit and relax; on the down side, there are also construction materials and debris in the garden. The only source of heating is two electric heaters standing in the same corner of the living room/bedroom. The kitchen and bathroom are unheated, which provides for a truly refreshing morning experience in the winter season. It's really cold in the winter even in the main (heated) room. I haven't seen an air conditioner, and I don't know how it feels in the summer. The facilities, especially the shower, are old and of poor quality. All the taps are dripping. The boilers for hot water in the bathroom and in the kitchen are also dripping, especially when you turn them on (and they have to be turned off when you are showering to prevent electrocution and also when the temperature exceeds a certain threshold to prevent an explosion :) The drain in the shower is clogged, and the shower tray is installed unevenly, with one of the corners below the drain level, so water accumulates in this corner and never drains at all. The shower tray is covered with some kind of putty that comes off in patches and sticks to your feet when you step on it. There is no holder, so you have to hold the shower head in your hands while showering. The room smells of tobacco. Like a lot. People have obviously been smoking heavily in this room, and you can't help it by simply opening a window, the scent still lingers. If there was any doubt, the multiple burn marks on the sofa would dispel it :) The water is almost white (from calcium, I guess); the only source of more or less transparent water is the hot tap in the kitchen (probably because the water goes through the boiler first).
