Casa da Ribeira

Everything was amazing. The hosts were very welcoming, it felt like staying at my grandparents' place! The swimming pool is very nice, and right behind it there is a small river with small natural pools between the rocks that you can explore.

We were unlucky to go there during a heat wave and the cold mountain air was not enough, so the room was hot even at night since there is no AC, but that still doesn't prevent me giving it 10 points!

The hotel is in a quiet place, right by the mountain river (but thanks to the good windows we were not disturbed by its noise to sleep well). Great hosts, very friendly, we felt like home. In the morning they serve breakfast of freshly baked bread, local cheese and jam. It was very nice when the hosts noticed that one night we were a little cold (it was cool at night) and the next night they heated the house so that we were comfortable. Thank you for that, we were very pleased. We spoke a mixture of English and Portuguese, but everything was clear. A 15-minute drive away there is a great restaurant O Vicente (if it is closed - also a good local cafe Imperio, where there is also an English-speaking waiter). Near the hotel there are many nice Portuguese towns and hiking routes.

Location - beautiful house next to a small river

No restaurants nearby (about 10m drive) and no kitchen available for guests use although a pleasant breakfast is served by the hosts.

The host were very sweet, also the house was very warm and comfortable, perfect for a cold winter night with a group of friends. Besides that they have a room with games like snooker, ping pong and matrecos. The bed rooms were also great and the location lose to the river absolutely lovely. The cheese they served in the morning were also delicious, it’s local. We will for sure return.

The house was great, very clean and warm, every room also have a private bathroom which was very comfortable. The couple hosting the house were absolutely lovely.

The location was beautiful, next to a river. The hotelowners very very welcoming, even while we were late. We will always remember that welcome. The room was perfect. Breakfast was very nice.
