Location for Tilbury Port was good.

Expensive for a room in house with Shared bathroom. Can get Hotel rooms for less than this.

Why stay in Tilbury? If you arrive a day early for your cruise in order to get de-jetlagged, Tilbury is the place to go. The lodgings there, though few in number, will be half or less of the price of motels/hotels in the area or in London. You will be able to travel from Heathrow to Tilbury by convenient tube/train for about $50 each, And you can to walk from the Tilbury Town station to your lodging and then to the cruise terminal, once again saving taxi fare. (Our walk was twenty minutes from the station to our lodging and fifty minutes from our lodging to the cruise terminal, with wheeled luggage. And we're 78 years old. The entire town is flat, with good pavement all the way; a ramp, not stairs, over the tracks nearest the cruise terminal.) There is little to do in Tilbury; but, hey, you're there to get de-jet-lagged. Only a couple of sit-down restaurants, but many takeout shops and a small food store, all within an easy walk, so with a fridge and a microwave you are fine for nutritional needs. Why stay at 40 Ottawa Court? Hosts were available and helpful with questions/operating instructions whenever needed, and otherwise courteous but unobtrusive. Even provided an outlet adapter when I found I had brought the wrong one. Room was thoroughly clean. Small but efficiently laid out, with room for a fridge, a microwave, a wardrobe with drawers, a chair and small table, and what appeared to be a good quality tv (though we did not spend time watching it) as well as for all our luggage. Why pay a lot more for empty floor space in a motel? Bed was comfortable, both as to mattress and bedding. Bathroom was immediately next to our room, and, although presumably shared with hosts was never occupied when we wanted it; there were no other guest rooms but ours. Note that I did not answer the "paid wi-fi" question because the wi-fi was _free_ and worked well.

The host was really pleasant and was kind enough to wait up late for me due to train delays. The room was neat and quiet as well. Overall, a pleasant stay.
