Spacious villa, bright and modern interior. Nice size swimming pool. Village of Afife is pleasant and beaches nearby are amazing. Lovely sand, great waves and nice snack bars. Selection of golf courses within 1 hr drive of villa.

The villa smelt damp, with towels smelling musty. The level of cleanliness was ok but could have been much better. There were only 4 sun loungers, no cushions for them, limited outdoor furniture and all old and in need of replacement. We used the 2 adult bikes, but again these needed some maintenance. Villa location was good for access to the village and beaches, but the big downside was that it was next to a motorbike / power tool repair garage. The noise of engines and the smell of diesel was not great.

A very smart villa furnished and maintained to a good standard. A lovely quiet residential location with nice views. The owners are very communicative and helpful if required. The interior is well appointed with good quality appliances and comfy furniture. An en-suite bathroom in each bedroom as well as the studio is really nice. We felt really relaxed and secure whilst staying at Casa da Gateira. The small mechanics workshop across the road didn’t cause us any annoyance at all.

There’s a huge amount of crockery and cutlery but most of the former is heavily marked. The outside furniture and the BBQ area definitely need an uplift please. On our visit the freezer door seal needed replacement, a toilet seat was loose and the kettle didn’t easily seat on its base. The owner said they would address this for their next customers. The main issue is the very steep and unique steps from the main living area down to the studio; they make this property unsafe for toddlers and small children let alone a couple of 60 somethings!

Pretty quiet location lovely modern house, good restaurant within walking distance of the house we had a wonderful stay.
