We had a wonderful stay at La Canea. It is brand new and a very high quality townhouse refurbished and full of amenities. Very well located on a quieter side of the Old Town, easy walking distance to everything. The place is solidly built, very quiet, excellent sound insulation, bright with skylight and plenty of windows. AC, tiny pleasant garden patio, outdoor shower. Very private (enter through a secure locked gate). Plenty of towels, beach towels, washer and supplies, safe, first aid station, toiletries. Well outfitted small kitchen, fridge with multiple water bottles, a bottle of wine and local liqueur. Coffee and tea supplies and milk, a Nespresso machine with pods. A tray of fresh Greek pastries/spinach pies awaited us on arrival. The place is immaculate. We were there for 7 nights and after the third day the very nice cleaning lady came and cleaned the place and changed the beds. And left a box of different pastries. A mini market with very late hours is open just across the street. A hearty breakfast with multiple options is offered at a nice waterfront cafe 2 mins walk. Nikos was very responsive and helpful, arranging airport taxi (who later drove us to and from the Heraklion ferry) and leaving helpful recommendations for restaurants. They clearly make a big effort to welcome guests. This is one of the nicest places we have rented. Highly recommend.
