Inspiring decorations & cute tortoise on the outside, warmth and interesting people on the inside. What else do you need? Eiko-san and Hiro-san are the kindest hosts! They showed us the local museum and a park, and were so kind to drive me to the station :) It is really clean inside. The kitchen is easy to cook in. I had a kotatsu in my room even! Yay! ありがとうございました♪

"Super welcoming hosts and maybe one of the most uniquely decorated house in Japan"

10.0

-The host couple were very welcoming and friendly. They were always very helpful and made my stay feel amazing. -The house is possibly one of the most uniquely decorated house in Japan, full of retro memorabilia from cars, comics and movies. The house is an old style Japanese house, so it is a good experience in itself. -The area around is very peaceful -good Wi-Fi speed, I worked remotely there with no issues. There is also aircon in the room, and on clear days you can also see Mt. Fuji. -there are supermarkets close to the station with a big variety of delicious cheap food that you can eat in

These were things I dealt with no issue, but will mention for future guests : -the walls are thin, so you can hear other people talking. If you are planning on work remotely this might present an issue. I was aware of this beforehand and brought noise protection headset, so I had no issue with this. The other guests were generally quiet so that also helped. -I did this every day with no issue, but the train station might be a bit far for some people, 25 minutes walking. There is a bus stop relatively close to the house that gets you to the station for 100yen plus the owner also lets you borrow a bicycle if you prefer. -there isn't much to do around the area, it feels a bit countryside, and some might consider it a bit far from central Tokyo. But you have Omiya Kasukabe and Kawagoe closer. Japan isn't just Tokyo, so why not get a feel for a bit of a more countryside place when you get tired of big cities?

"Comfortable, pleasant, well prepared, great hosts, and bargain accommodation!"

10.0

This is a comfy, clean, well decorated, functioning, affordable stay with good amenities and wonderfully friendly, helpful, and kind hosts. Basics like an excellent washing machine, shower/bath, comfortable bed, everything you need in the kitchen for cooking, preparing hot drinks, refrigerator and freezer storage etc are well taken care of. You will be warm and comfortable in your room (probably cool in the summer too, there is an aircon/heater). And it's a really interesting house aesthetically, so if that's your thing you'll probably love it!

The house and particularly the first-floor bedroom needs way more soundproofing. It has not been an issue for me because of my excellent housemates. However, if you are a remote worker with a job such as teaching that requires a quiet environment, you should not stay on the first-floor bedroom (upstairs is probably fine) if you'd get in trouble with work for too much background noise. This could be an extremely risky booking if you don't have cooperative housemates.
