Sand and Sunset

Very nice place close to the beach. Excellent breakfast included and great restaurant on site. The staff is super nice and so helpful! JP the property manager was amazing! He was always around to make sure you’re happy and everything is perfect! Highly recommended!

The hotel is not as advertised. On the booking.com app it says there is a pool and there are two photos of the pool. In fact they have another property in another part of Zanzibar which has a pool. The friendly receptionist took us for a 15 minute walk on potholed roads to another hotel where we could use their pool. As we didn't want a half hour round trip every time we wanted a quick dip we decided not to stay. It then took three complete days of phone calls and visits before they would cancel the booking.

My stay at Sand and Sunset was very good and comfortable, offering great value overall. It is a simple, relaxed place that makes it easy to enjoy Zanzibar without spending too much. The food was good and satisfying, with enough variety to enjoy during the stay. Everything felt fresh and well-prepared, making meals pleasant and easy. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything needed for a relaxed stay. It is not overly luxurious, but it is clean, practical, and perfect for travelers looking for something affordable and convenient. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, always willing to help with a smile, which made the experience even better and more enjoyable. One of the best things is the location—just about 10 minutes from the beach, which makes it very easy to enjoy the ocean and return quickly to rest. Overall, Sand and Sunset is a great budget-friendly option with a warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and a very convenient location close to the beach.

After hours staff (security) was helpful in checking me in, I stay here for a short time but everything was well maintained good bathroom good cleanliness

Very professional and kind staff. Room was simple but clean and quiet. Excellent wifi. It's one minute walk from Kendwa Rocks hotel + it works in partnersip with main Sunset hotel allowing to access beach and use sunbeds and other Sunset facilities. Good value for money.

The location was great, just a short walk to reach the beach. The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. They helped with taxis and allowed us to leave our luggage in the room beyond check-out time, absolute heroes!

The street was a bit loud and sleeping in the early morning was difficult; breakfast options were limited but good.
