Wonderful place to stay, beautiful garden with good swimming pool, very clean. Simi and Shibu were lovely hosts. Very attentive. Gave us some good meals and even sang to us one evening. Alan was also a great host. Went out of his way to take us round the village and introduced us to people, organised a fantastic trip on the backwaters and helped us get on the train when we left. We had a great time and can’t praise it highly enough.

The swimming pool set in a lovely garden was an absolute bonus and a rare find. The choices for breakfast were rich and varied, choices of cereals, fruits, pancakes and so much more. We were made to feel very much at home by Alan, Suni and Shibu who were wonderful hosts with gorgeous smiles. The location is safe and peaceful. So glad we chose this placement to stay.

The ambience, the absolute beauty of the garden and building, the incredibly helpful, friendly, supportive and fun team made this week an extraordinarily special one for us. We experienced fabulous excursions and places thanks to the support of the team. Fabulous food too! There are no fools at 'Fool's Paradise '..but it is Paradise!

The hotel is very close to the beach (there is NO infrastructure at the beach, nothing, just sand). I was able to check in early, which was great. Upstairs terrace was very nice, pleasant place to sit and work. Garden lighting is nice.

Given all the other reviews were so good, I was expecting a lot, but it felt in many ways that I was the first person to ever stay there, there were so many little niggles. There were language issues with the house keepers (who were friendly, but only spoke basic very English), and issues with payment (bring cash!!!). The pool just had a few cheap plastic seats, no deck chairs, no pool towels - foreigners going to a beach hotel want to lie by the pool! There was a hammock with a big hole in - remove, replace or repair please! Breakfast was "do you want chapatis"...well, I don't know, what are the other options!? A menu is needed. The hotel is quite remote, so you have to get a cab or walk a long way to get anything. It would be great if there was some proactive assistance to order food maybe, a drinks fridge would be excellent. The second night there was a group of rowdy guys who played loud music until I went downstairs at midnight to tell them to shut up. Overall, it was frustrating that with (quite a few) little touches, it could be really nice, but as it is, I wouldn't go back.

The stay was very nice, Sini, Shibu were very welcoming and nice. The two are wonderful, friendly people, we felt like home. The breakfast was very tasty and the best we've had while travelling. We could always say what we need. We had an amazing stay. We will never forget it. Thank you again! And the fool is actually really nice;)

From the moment we arrived in Kerala the owners of Fools Paradise took care of everything. Firstly, an airport transfer was waiting for us, making the journey stress free. When we arrived at the property Shibu & Sini greeted us with a warm welcome, chia, coffee, cold drinks & showed us to our air conditioned, en suite room. Just what you need in Kerala! The top notch hospitality continued throughout our week long stay. From breakfast cooking lessons, to family introductions & everything in between, we were made to feel right at home. Shibu & Sini are wonderful. They work hard to make sure every guest is take care of, while keeping the house, garden & pool clean & tidy, and cooking the most amazing Indian food too! A hire scooter arranged in advance by the owner arrived 1/2 an hour after we checked in. Perfect! We love to explore. One day we had a guided tour to a local museum, cafe & heart warming orphanage. The constant stream of guests coming & going shows just how good Fools Paradise is! We met some lovely people throughout our stay. I must also mention the wildlife in the garden, geckos, uppan birds, woodpeckers, hummingbirds. All varieties of butterfly. It’s a real oasis! We were sad to leave but our departure was made seamless with another airport transfer arranged by the owners. Kerala is a fantastic, beautiful part of the world. It’s not glamorous or pretentious. There are gorgeous beaches & lots of good places to eat near the home stay. Keralan food is outstanding & the people are friendly, helpful & inviting. If you are planning a visit we highly recommend staying at Fools Paradise. We will be returning! Thank you 😊 ❤️
