"A lovely break in a beautiful location."

9.0

Great location. The property had good facilities and the welcome pack and extra touches were thoughtful and much appreciated. Our grandson enjoyed the variety of toys in the cottage.

Unfortunately, for us, the mattresses were very saggy and the pillows were lumpy and too flat with no extra pillows available. The cutlery and crockery in the kitchen needed to be washed before we could use them and the oven and trays were not very clean either. This aside, the kitchen was well equipped and a lovely space for family meals.

"Could be a lovely holiday home but needs some routine maintenance"

6.0

We liked the kitchen area and lots of space in the property for our family. Also the hosts kindly let us have a late check out which is greatly appreciated when packing up with young children.

We regularly stay in Portknockie visiting family and this property is at the higher end of the price range. Therefore I did have high expectations but unfortunately I was disappointed. The property is no longer as shown in the photographs online. It needs some time spent on routine maintenance, flickering dimmer lights, missing door handle, faulty tv, limited glasses, broken bathroom lock, cobwebs, faulty socket, broken floor tiles, worn carpets, wardrobe door with no handle, no fire guard, curtain hook hanging off, curtains don’t close, broken outside light for the bin area, over grown garden. Lots of small details but many of them all add up. If the maintenance required is addressed this could be a lovely property to holiday in, however at present I feel it is tired and in need of some tlc.

"Perfect accommodation."

10.0

The kitchen was perfect. Large table and very spacious. Yes, some floor tiles need replacing and could do to have more forks, but we loved it.

Nothing. It was all good!

Great location. Easy parking outside. Lovely village and very close to walk to the harbour, pub, fish and chips and local shop. Downstairs bedroom and en-suite was ideal as one of our party has mobility issues. Lovely large kitchen/diner.

"Delightful place to stay."

10.0

The cottage was quaint but modern and well fitted out. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen well set up with everything we needed. The showers and bathroom facilities were excellent. Thought had obviously been put into the decor and design of the place and also to what might be needed by folk visiting.

There were a couple of things we feel we should mention for maintenance. In the small toilet upstairs several floor boards are split and could potentially hurt someone if barefoot. Also there are a few broken tiles on the kitchen floor which are cracked and could cause accidents. The welcome pack that we had been led to expect on arrival wasn’t there and the cleaner hadn’t finished work by the time we arrived at 4.30 pm, but we did inform the owner of this at the time. Other than that we have no complaints and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
