Great place, very lovely hosts, good staff and the breakfast was soo good. Definitely worth the stay.

My sister and I did not stay here long enough to develop a preference for anything. The location is not as described and I would not be confident in their meals. H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E to say the least!!

On September 9, 2024, I was the victim of a fraudulent transaction involving a property valued at over $200. The Kenyan owner of the property provided an inaccurate description of its location, which is significantly far from the main road and situated in a remote area with poor cellular network coverage and very questionable security measures. Upon arrival at the property, which had been booked through Booking.com, my sister and I immediately recognized that it was not suitable for our stay due to safety concerns. We immediately requested for a refund, even a partial refund but this was denied vehemently by the owner so we sought alternative accommodation since it was getting dark. It is important to note that the rooms lack private showers and toilets, instead relying on shared bathroom facilities reminiscent of a high school dormitory. Additionally, the pool was in an unsanitary condition when we arrived at 4:30 p.m. In light of our negative experience, I strongly advise against booking this property, particularly for young women, due to the potential safety risks posed by the surrounding environment, which includes tall, unkempt bushes.

Quiet and peaceful location, close to the beach. Staff are friendly and polite. For the price, I think it is reasonable.

There were some hygiene issues - the kitchen was infested with ants, the bed had some black stains on it, there is no bin in the room which would also be recommended so rubbish can be disposed of.

Love the atmosphere, staff, owners and generally the Casa Hera experience. Such a lovely place and people!

Only three things that could be improved: (1) The fan was sometimes insufficient to keep us cool at night, and we kept forgetting to ask for a second fan; (2) A small hole in the mosquito-net meant we did get bit a couple of times; and (3) the bumpy road to the location. However, these things did not take any away from our lovely stay :)

The staff was friendly

During the day (from 9 to 17), there was some loud demolition work on the first floor of the building. As it is a pretty small building, it was really noisy. We were not informed of this, neither we got a discount. One afternoon, we got offered a separate room to rest in peace during the day, but I think they shouldn't have guests in the building at all during construction work. I also didn't like the not refundable policy of the room. The access to the hotel is on a not paved street, and there are not many options for restaurants at a walking distance. Most of the time, you will need to move with a tuk tuk, especially after sun down. We also had a major security problem right outside of the hotel, for which I don't blame the facility, but it took some points down from the location. The dinner was a bit pricey for the quality (1500KES per person, for which you get better food at restaurants in the village).

Quiet , relaxing and peaceful environment.

The meals should be served on time to all guests white or black, there was division, as locals we were treated differently in comparison to non locals, other than that the owner was lovely and made our stay comfortable, but the other factors are things to take into consideration when hosting guests of all ethnicities.
