The City Escape Luxury Townhouse with parking

The property accommodated our family of 8 adults for a birthday celebration. The beds were comfortable, lovely thick fluffy towels and a very well equipped kitchen. A big beautiful main bathroom and en suite bathroom, both with lovely big showers and plenty of beautiful toiletries in both. It was a flat, easy 15 minutes walk into the city centre and in a quiet street.

When we arrived at 3.15pm there was a maintenance man there fixing the front door as apparently it had fallen off its hinges! As I walked into the entrance hall I felt slightly disappointed - the floor tiles were grubby and the stair carpet had a hole in it! Despite the house being well equipped and comfortable it felt very tired in parts. (This property is also on Airbnb and described as newly refurbished - years ago maybe!) It definitely needs new carpet throughout as well as new soft furnishings - some had seen better days, especially in the lounge area. The Roman blind in one of the bedrooms didn’t work properly, it wouldn’t stay up. The back yard was a lovely sun trap but would have been nicer if the hanging shrubs had been trimmed and all the dead branches removed. The garden furniture is described as brand new (on Airbnb) but it isn’t, the cushions were grubby. The front of the house is run down plus the general waste bin was full on arrival!

We had a lovely family stay - age 6 to 85 and a good time was had by all! Plenty of space, super clean and an easy walk into York
