Game Fish Lodge

quiet location, very chill, no one to bother you on beach, fantastic food cooked by Colin and Lesley who are the best hosts I’ve ever come across. They make every single guest feel so welcome and genuinely care about your stay. My daughter and I actually cancelled another hotel so we could stay here longer as just felt so at home. thee are 5 rooms so if you want peace and quiet and friendly hosts this is the place for you. Thank you Colin and Lesley we loved every minute and especially all your stories, what a life x

The breakfast was massive and one of the tastiest breakfasts and dinners I have had. The owners are very personable and greet you by your first name every morning when they greet you and make breakfast. The resort is very quiet, private, and safe. The owners offered lots of suggestions to our questions which helped us select certain activities we enjoyed. The dinners are amazing value with insane flavours and quantity. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast was good and the owner according to linkdln Leslie- Ann is a delightful and very helpful individual. She always came up with great ideas for the days activities. The same cannot be said for her husband Colin who is full of bluster and a bully. The sandbank down from the lodge is very beautiful. On the Last day our flight was in the middle of the night and Leslie-Ann very kindly allowed us to leave our luggage in the room for the day and shower before going to the airport in the evening.

We were dissapointed with the overall layout of the lodge. The grounds are pretty unappealing with incomplete concrete structures and large open areas. Not the soft thatched roof structures and pretty gardens that we were was expecting. On arrival we were introduced to the honesty bar and when we inquired about ice for drinks we were informed that they did not provide ice as water was to expensive. Leslie-Ann then offered to make us ice if we supplied the water. This arrangement was fine but you always had to find someone to open the kitchen to access the ice, one would have thought that they would at least have a deep freeze in the bar area for ice. We were so dissapointed that on the second day I enquired as to the possibility of reducing our stay however given the cancellation policy this was not possible even though the lodge was never full for the duration of our stay. About half way our stay through our stay I was effectively accused of stealing a bottle of water from the honesty bar something that I vehemently denied a huge argument ensued and that was the last discussion we had with Colin . At the end of ther day i was even billed for the additional water which i paid as i was passed arguining and Leslie-Ann was so kind that i did not want to embarrass her further. To call the lodge beachfront is a bit of a misnomer as at high tide the waves crash againt the rocks making access to the sea imposssible and at low tide the exposed rocks are covered in sea urchin. Seafront would be a more apt description. Colin will most likely try and discredit me as he does with any adverse reviews. There were other European visitors staying there at the same time who spent lots of euros and gave a good rating.

- Colin and Leslie are amazing hosts that will help with any information you need on where to go/what to see. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed our stay very much! - the room was very well kept, cleaned daily and had a full view of the ocean - great breakfast, freshly made - fantastic dinners on the premises. Colin can prepare you the best lobster you every had and ask Leslie about her desserts! - the pool was cool

Nothing to complain about

The food was very good, big breakfast, fresh ingredients, big portions for dinner. Lesley, one of the owners was very kind and is a lovely person, trying to give us nice time at the lodge.

Beware of the male owner Colin! This man becomes angry very fast. He started to scream, verbally attacked us and wanted to kick us out of the lodge. If something doesn't go his way, he immediately looses his temper. We are very experienced travelers and never ever had a situation like this before! This incident really spoiled our vacation a lot.

Wonderful lodge managed by a lovely couple: Colin and Leslie. They really care about every host, and immediately make you feel at home The facilities are comfortable and cozy but not excessively luxurious, just like a proper trip to Africa should be. Rooms are clean with direct view on the beautiful sea. With only 5 rooms available, the privacy and the quiet of the lodge stand out The position is great: direct access to a hidden, wonderful beach, and 20min walk (through an historic village) to the nightlife of Nungwi The food is amazing: breakfast is fresh and plenty and dinner consists of catch of the day. Large portions for small prices To summarize, I’d strongly recommend Game Fish Lodge to anyone looking for a lovely, quiet lodge with a “family-like” feeling in the beautiful Nungwi
