The White House

The location is very good within easy walking distance of the beach and lots of restaurants. Rangan is very nice and friendly, less so the other two guys but I think their english is not so good. The breakfast was good (especially the Tropical Oats) and they kindly gave me hot water for my own coffee. The restaurant area with outside seating is nice. Towel provided and they let me use the fridge.

My main issue was the dirty bathroom. Just one bathroom for everyone, no separate toilets. I don't think it was cleaned in the 3 days I was there. The bin was full of toilet paper, plasters and rubbish with insects crawling in it. The drain was blocked with hair and sand. The dorm also was never swept or the bin emptied so it was overflowing when I left. The bed linen doesn't fit the bed so there is partly just bare mattress. The door to the dorm doesn't shut properly so in the middle of the night it's swinging open and there are just two lockers to the 4 beds. It's cheap, but even so, the bathroom should be cleaned every day. Sorry to say it because Rangan is such a lovely guy who cares about his guests.

Besitzer sehr herzlich! Personal super. Lage top! Sehr gemütlicher Innenhof Rangam ist wirklich super freundlich! Wir haben sogar eine frische Kokosnuss aus dem eigenen Garten bekommen!

Le personnel est adorable ! La chambre privée est confortable et le jardin est agréable ! La nourriture y est très bonne aussi ! Je recommande !

Besitzer und Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Man kann Touren bei ihnen buchen. Besitzer hat eine entzückende Babykatze <3 Das Dormzimmer war für den Preis angemessen. Handtücher und Leintuch vorhanden. Badezimmer ist ok. Sauberkeit auch ok. Gemütlicher Garten zum verweilen und Restaurant ist auch dabei. Lage perfekt.

Es gab im dorm keine Option die Wertsachen einzuschließen

Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und die Lage super! Man hatte direkt viele Restaurants vor der Tür und der Weg zum Strand war in wenigen Minuten erledigt.

Da ich 1,90m groß bin und das Bett nur 1,80m waren die Nächte nicht so erholsam, dazu kam noch, dass es sehr heiß war.

Nice staff and a super nice garden to hang out

Ragan è un padrone di casa estremamente gentile e affabile, che saprà mettervi a vostro agio sempre, oltre a questo è un capacissimo istruttore di apnea e sub con esperienza pluriennale che vi potrà introdurre alle meraviglie e fragilità della locale barriera corallina, dunque consiglio vivamente le sue escursioni all'Isola dei Piccioni. Il cibo è veramente ottimo, pesce locale cucinato veramente bene e finalmente niente rice 'n curry! Anche la colazione è una bella sorpresa. Il tutto contornato da un'atmosfera rilassante e aperta. Per gli standard europei l'ospitalità è un po' spartana, in puro stile singalese, come la maggior parte dei posti è immerso fra alberi e piante, dunque qualche formica e qualche rana possono essere compagni del vostro soggiorno, qui è normale, se non vi va bene andate in un enclave occidentale o in qualche luxury resort del cavolo. Questo posto vale ogni euro, anzi ogni rupia, che costa.

I wish I could rate this place 11. Rangan is amazing and we had such a great time. Comfortable room, great value for money, excellent food, close to the beach, and Rangan is just the man to help you arrange snorkeling and diving. More than a place to stay: a home away from home!
