We stayed at Villa Le Encore for 2 weeks in April for a family get together of 6 adults. Anna was our primary host and she was truly a delight throughout our stay. We were fortunate enough to sample her cooking - she’s a fabulous baker / cook, so if you’re interested in a cooking class you don’t need to go far. Her husband was very helpful and pleasant. He showed up immediately to address an issue with the heat and he offered his help when we needed to have a flat tire fixed. Anything we needed was promptly taken care of. The bedrooms were roomy and easily accommodated our suitcases and clothes. Two of the rooms have a great ocean view. One note about the third bedroom (two twin beds) - there is no window in this room. Perfectly fine for children, but adults may miss the exterior light. The entire house was spotless - cleaner than most hotels I’ve stayed in. Plenty of towels for everyone and there is also enough parking for two cars.  The terrace has a beautiful view of the ocean from morning through night. The kitchen was recently redone and was well equipped for cooking. The dining area is large enough for 6 adults. Within walking distance are a few restaurants, places for morning coffee and a great shop for groceries. You can also climb the steps to the winery and additional restaurants if you are up for a challenge. We recommend getting familiar with the bus schedule and using it to get to places up the hill, to Amalfi and to the ferry. We also recommend taking the bus to get to the beach. It’s possible to take the stairs, but it is too much for most people to make this climb. There is a paid parking area down the hill which eliminates about half of the climb, but it is still a challenging journey.

With 6 adults staying at the home, we would have liked additional comfortable seating when we gathered in the evening (the sofa only seats 3 and there are shelves directly above the daybed). It would also be helpful to add a lamp on the nightstand (in two bedrooms) so guests don’t have to get up to turn the lights on and off.

More information to assist with getting around Amalfi. The description of how to get to the Fjord was "100 steps". WE didn't realize that was 100 steps down to the bus that takes you to the Fjord.
