The Salt Locker

The location was perfect for us. It’s absolutely central in the village with all the facilities (harbour, top class restaurants, fish and chip shop, supermarket, deli) within about 100 yards. Although it’s on the main village road, which is also a bus route, thanks to excellent double glazing we were never aware of any traffic noise. The flat was really well equipped and just the right size, with a good layout.

Hot water pressure wasn’t great, but didn’t affect the shower so we just worked round it. Slightly strangely, we could only get BBC channels on the television, but perhaps that was just our ineptitude.

Location was fine

A complete lack of hot water for the whole weekend made for an unpleasant stay. Worse, the host only replied to requests for help just before check out. A terrible experience.

Cracking little place, right near the harbour, ideal bolthole for a couple

This is a really lovely flat. Very warm, very clean and comfortable. The location is excellent. The owners had decorated a Christmas tree which was a lovely touch. An excellent stay.

We only stayed a couple of nights as we were visiting our son for Christmas. If I had been staying longer I would have like a dishwasher and washing machine.

The location is spot on for the harbour and local facilities.

The apartment was in a great position in Porthleven only a couple of minutes walk from the harbour and restaurants. It was well equipped and clean and very warm. No parking is available at the property but there’s plenty of free parking around Porthleven and a public car park nearby. We were able to stop directly outside the property to unload our car. Key box made for an easy check in.

There was very poor water flow from the hot taps in both the kitchen and bathroom. I reported this to the owners who have probably sorted it out by now. The flat is over a fish and chip shop, we found that by keeping the bathroom door closed the smell doesn’t permeate into the rest of the apartment.
