The hot tub

Lots of cobwebs around the windows, I understand it is an old house but these could quite easily have been dusted away, the table was set for viewings as the house was up for sale which were we not informed about, and we didn’t want to move the table settings. there were four of us but we couldn’t sit and watch the tv and relax as there was only seating for two.

The cottage was beautifully presented—immaculately clean and full of character.

Beautiful property, spotlessly clean. Very helpful owner/ manager. In a gorgeous location . Great for walking.

We liked everything about the property.

Fridge leaked all week & did not dispense cold water, or ice. No instruction manuals for cooker, or ultra posh coffee maker, the cooking utensils were abysmal, a couple of wooden spoons would have been better than the awful slice / spoons & stirrer provided. No colander. Knives were dangerously blunt and you have to be a giant to work the extractor fan over the hob - luckily I am tall - most people are not. Lack of working USB plugs - only 2 in the whole place. We never managed to get the cinema room working at all - which wasn't a big deal for us. The Wifi did not work in one of the bedrooms, so, TV would only work by turning off the whole house & rebooting. I have the same TV at home, so, not user incompetence. Itis in a great location & the hot tub was a bonus, but overall for the price it was style over substance & we all felt overpriced. I understand the history & the amount of work done to bring the ruin back to habitable, but with just a tiny amount of extra thought, this could have been stunning. Maybe most people who stay here eat out, we didn't and found the kitchen entirely underwhelming.

Absolutely loved the cottage and our stay. Perfect for a surprise celebration for my husband's 60th The property was immaculate and in a fabulous location for walking straight from the door. Very peaceful day and night. Probably one of the nicest places we've stayed in overall. Extremely spacious and exactly like the pictures. Ample towels and spares for the huge hot tub, which we enjoyed both nights after a days walking. A bonus too- unexpectedly the table was set up lovely already on arrival, and set the scene perfectly for our planned evenings tasting menu. The shower in the main bedroom was too hot, don't burn yourself, we couldn't cool it. Theresa was fab at responding, and especially helpful re parking. We can't all stop talking about our lovely stay here and have recommended it to friends and family.

Everything was absolutely amazing about this property. The seller was lovely and so so helpful (massive thank you!), just the little details like providing me with recommendations on shops and pubs etc. The house itself was beautiful, everything was so clean, the house was lovely and warm when we arrived. It was so peaceful and just all in all an absolutely beautiful property. You are so lucky to have a home like this! I will definitely be coming back to stay here :)

The stunning location, beautifully maintained cottage, and Theresa's accommodating hospitality all contributed to a memorable stay. It's always great when hosts go above and beyond to ensure their guests have everything they need. I will be recommending to everyone I know 10/10.

There wasn’t one thing I didn’t like about the cottage. I was very sad to leave.
