Winter Escape with heated pool

A gorgeous property with spacious rooms. Tastefully decorated. Seems beautiful until you look closely. Four cars fitted on the drive. Dog friendly. Huge garden. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. The Heating was good.

We weren’t informed about the pool being out of action. I had to ring the host after seeing a review from earlier in the month stating this. Owner offered a discount of 15% which I have had to chase with no replies to emails or messages. Ended up getting the amount as a credit through Booking.com as the owner didn’t reply to them either. The property is beautiful but lacks maintenance. Quite a few lights weren’t working, severe mould in the en suite, loose tap in bathroom, cold water in shower downstairs, outdoor cushions damp and mouldy, patio doors only secured by a flimsy catch, highchair straps broken. All these issues have been highlighted in previous reviews but haven’t been addressed by the owner. It is such a shame as the property could be something truly amazing with some tlc. We enjoyed our weekend away but certainly didn’t feel the property was worth the price we paid.

We loved the decor and the whole of the interior and garden. There were plenty of books, magazines and games for all our family aged 8-70. It really was a beautiful house. Dining room table was huge and sat 9 of us easily. Plenty of plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. The grandkids loved their room too. Train station was at the end of the road.

The pool was out of action for our time there. Grandson was very disappointed as we chose this property as it had the pool.

The house was lovely, the outdoor seating area had a heat lamp, which was great for sitting out in the evenings. The pool was a real treat, the kids all loved it.

The property was beautiful, very spacious and the pool was the highlight of the trip.

The owners were late to give us a lockbox code, so our ice and desert melted in the car. Minor detail, we could have really done with a tin opener, the tin tomatoes remained unopened. The property was clean but bits of rubbish were found in the garden, totally understandable due to the size of the property.

The size of the house and location

Couldn’t use swimming pool which is why we booked it as water was so cold my granddaughter was so cold when she tried the pool it took 3 hours to get warm!!!Couldn’t use cooker as had grease all over it.It was a lot of money just for the house !! All the outside furniture and cushions were soaked!!

The property itself is gorgeous and was lovely for our group getaway

The pool wasn’t heated and when we turned up, we couldn’t use it because it hadn’t been checked. There was meant to be a check the next day and a delivery of loo rolls as we were only provided with 2 for 12 people but none of this happened, which was disappointing and also quite a significant part of our stay

Stunning house, loads of space and the swimming pool is a real bonus. Great location for the train station - we went daily into Liverpool and it was quick and cheap. The owners were really welcoming and helpful. The children loved the giant teddy and the enormous TV!

There are only two showers so if you’re a large group, you just need to time your morning showers to accommodate everyone! Only a minor thing!

It would have been useful to have a welcome book with guidance for example on how to work the TV, patio heaters, heating etc... so we didn't have to keep disturbing the owners, however they were only to willing to assist when we needed to know something.
