"Excellent stay!"

We really enjoyed our stay at Hostal San José. The hostel and rooms are very clean, well furnished and decorated. The staff is super nice and the two dogs lovely. We're really sad that we just stayed for one night. The hostel, Somoto and the surrounding is worth to stay for a while!

Just keep in mind that it is more a hotel then a hostel. So there is no shared kitchen. A refill option for water bottles would be great!

"The best accommodation!"

Very clean and comfortable with an amazing breakfast. The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.

"Pleasant stay very close to the center of Somoto"

The breakfast was tasty and the staff was superb. The rooms were nice and equipped with essential things needed. Ideal location for start of tour to Somoto canyon.

Good value for your money. Extremely friendly host with 2 cute little dogs. You can choose your breakfast: fruits with toasts/pancakes or tipico.

Everything! Hostal San Jose it’s a clean, comfortable place with extremely kind owners. Our room was spacious and had everything what we needed. it’s closed to the bus station and centre.

"Excellent place to stay in Somoto"

Very friendly staff. Helped us with registering a new Sim card for our phone, figuring out bus timetables and arranged a great Canyon tour. Breakfast was tasty, room and bathroom were spacious.

WiFi was a bit patchy. Shower didn't have any hot water but wasn't too cold so we weren't bothered but if that's important to you, something to know.

Very comfortable, spacious, friendly and clean. the owner of the hostal gave us a wonderful tour of Somoto canyon. Breakfast was delicious.
